There are so many amazing ones, but mine is - a controversial choice granted - LESTER'S DEMISE from CHERRY 2000, followed closely by NUCLEAR SCAM from The Hunt for Red October.

What are yours. Discuss.

Hmmm... maybe either "The Orgy" from CONAN or "Bugs" from STARSHIP TROOPERS... or "Nigel's Trip from FAREWELL TO THE KING...

Too many to chose.

Can I do my top five?

1. Nuclear Scam (Red October)
2. The Attack (Quigley)
3. Captain Call’s Journey (Lonesome Dove)
4. Showdown aka Looking at Me (Robocop)
5. Riddle of Steel/Riders of Doom (Conan the Barbarian)

Tango Urilla, Thrashing of Sky Ranch, Atlantean Sword/The Orgy are the ones that usually make my playlists but there are many others too.

This is super tough, but probably "Valjean and Cosette / Paris" (citing that whole incredible third suite track from the soundtrack album felt like cheating, but I see other folks including sequential cue pairs above so I'm going to indulge) from Les Miserables, my favorite Poledouris score. Basil's harp writing was just completely magical. One day I hope we get a complete release of the score with properly delineated cues.

Yavar

Again, not a "cue person", but suppose "Riders of Doom" from CONAN will have to win. Also dig the segue between the "Fed Net March" and "Klendathu Drop" on the STARSHIP TROOPERS OST (more a segue than a track, but anyway). "Hymn to Red October" will probably come third and then maybe the throbbing electronic main title of NO MAN'S LAND next.

Super tricky, of course, to name not only one favourite score, but one favourite friggin' CUE in all of Poledouris' work. But yeah...."Riders of Doom".

Objectively, if I should go for pure musical beauty, I agree with Yavar, for raw power I agree with Thor, for sheer elegance, I agree with MRAUDIO.
But for purely subjective reasons, I have to pick something else: When my first daughter was just a few months old, I played the Love Montage cue from Return to the Blue Lagoon. And at that beautiful swell around the 1.45 mark, she suddenly turned her head in the direction the music was coming from. Now that may of course have been a simple coincidence, but to me it felt like her first reaction to music. She has of course, shown many reactions to my music since, primarily stopping my discs to put on her own stuff, but I still remember that moment very fondly, so that's my rather personal choice for favourite cue.

How about one each from my three top Basil scores?

Atlantean Sword from Conan the Barbarian.

Rock Shop from Robocop.

Carmen's Shuttle Ride from Starship Troopers.

A pity these scores don't have an original end title suite.

Theology/Civilization

Recovery from Conan.

This is definitely a close second.

No way can I - will I - choose one.

Battle of the Mounds, Part II - Conan the Barbarian
The Drive-In - Red Dawn
End of Lester - Cherry 2000
Klendathu Drop - Starship Troopers
Murphy Goes Home - RoboCop

Atlantean Sword from Conan (apparently there is a rumour that the skeleton he takes the sword off of was Kull the conqueror).

Lord of the Lagoon from Blue Lagoon is pretty cool too.

@ Mr. SBD. Is End of Lester an alternate title for Lester's Demise? if so, we are on the same page.

For a long time I would have said 'Klendathu Drop', but I've developed a real fondness for 'Klendathu Battle (Version 1) (Unused)', disc 2 track 10 on the Deluxe Edition.

One of the most exhilarating action cues I've ever heard. I can understand why it wasn't used in the film and the scene works better without it, but holy moly is it a great listen.

Indeed. "Lester's Demise" (on the Intrada) and "End of Lester" (on the Prometheus) are the same cue.
