I'm most impressed by Don Davis' Emmy Award winning scores. It was based on these that the Wachowski Brothers wanted him for The Matrix. Perhaps Varese will follow up their Deluxe Matrix presentation with a box set of Seaquest music.

Treading carefully, there is an unmentionable recording of Davis' contribution, which serves to whet the appetite, and I'm sure this promise must shine through on the DVD's (which I don't yet have).

I found an old Seaquest thread on MovieMusic.com, and in it there is a link for Russ Landau's website... http://landau.filmmusic.com/ He was the series 3 composer. But when you visit it, its a Shirley Walker website ?. I'm confused.

I always liked this show even the 3rd season. I have Season 1 on DVD but still need to buy Season 2. I too have the OST and the unmentionable. I too wish we get more SeaQuest music in the future. I'd love a complete release of the original pilot episode by Debney. There was a lot of good music left off that. I watched this show only sporadically. SeaQuest came out at a time when there was a glut of scifi/genre shows on the telly - the two Star Treks, B5, Earth 2, Earth: Final Conflict, Space: Above and Beyond, Stargate SG-1, The X-Files, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Sliders, etc etc - and in the normal course of prioritizing things, it just fell to the bottom of the list.

Voyage to the Bottom of the List... But that's another era. I know what you mean, SciFi's a bit thin on the ground these days. Battlestar only has 3 more weeks to go (in the UK at least). Maybe after the new Star Trek Film is a smash-hit.... who knows. I know its a SciFi comedy, but I'm a Eureka fan too, and was quite surprised at Nathan Stark's fate last night. A bit harder-edged than I've been used to.

I was more of the mind that the second year got pretty dopey, in a Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea way - aliens, attaching plants, giant monsters, etc. The third season was a LOT better in terms of tone and direction. The first season was amazing - loved it. The music was excellent and some of the best TV scoring of the era. The third season the music was iffy. I enjoyed the new theme music a lot, but overall it was too "synthy" for my taste. But I'll take any SeaQuest music as it comes. A great series.
