With the "Grinch" being part of the bundle, this looks to me like yet another rehash of the Rhino series - the third one! Does anybody still understand the music industry? I guess the EMI editions didn't sell very well. At least they were soon deleted. The WEA re-issues could be found in bargain bins only months after they had been released. Does Sony really think that they will do better than EMI and Warner? The strangest choice is 'Casablanca'. The CD competes against dozens of unauthorized releases of the same material.
HUH? That is the same as the original CD. IT IS missing a few cues. OH Thor would love it. IT is incomplete as his own life is.... LOL.
This is the same CD as what was released in the 90's by Rhino, i.e. the complete score plus those outtake cues, so it is not missing anything. And for the record, I would actually be interested in having the original LP sequence on CD as well, since it was something Jerry produced.
The site also lists, amongst others, North by Northwest and the 2 CD sets of Ben-Hur, Gone With the Wind and How the West Was Won on the same date. Sony must have done a re-release deal with Rhino.

I guess the package design will be adapted to the price tag. "Ben-Hur", "Gone With The Wind" and "The Wizard Of Oz" make their European debut release in their deluxe editions. I still can't believe all that. Hopefully they'll replace the silly headline "Music From The Original Motion Picutre" with its original US counterpart "Original Motion Picture Soundtrack".
This is part of a deal recently made to distribute the Turner catalog in international territories. In other words, it's the same material that Rhino has been issuing, and FSM too. Sounds like for ease of production they are reusing Rhino masters. It does not affect our ongoing production of Turner titles.

I tend to make a rip then keep the source nice and safe. I'm too afraid to go back to it after I've done so out of fear it will possibly become damaged otherwise.
I'm overly protective of my collection.
It's a rather large one too so I tend to keep my most prized vinyls sealed away in boxes out of reach, unless I go out of my way to retrieve something that is.

Poltergeist LPs are dirt cheap, so there is nothing to fear. I love listening listening my vinyl collection.
