To lighten the mood across the film score spectrum I decided to torture you X File fans by slowly revealing the track listing of the our upcoming box set.
In other words, to over hype the hell out of this landmark release.
"You ever wonder what it would be like to die in a plane crash? Of botulism? Even a heart attack's not uncommon for a man your age. You think I'm bluffing?"

Another choice quote from CSM (from Talitha Cumi 3X24) that you might say applies here:
"Have you any idea what the cost of your actions is? What their affect MIGHT BE?"
But in all seriousness: I will admit to having been pessimistic about this release, given the prior delays, but now that it's actually happening, and coming so soon, I feel nothing but gratitude to La La Land for having the perserverance to pursue this long-overdue project.
THANK YOU and keep up the great work.
P.S. Maybe one little sound clip, La La Land? (And NOT the main title theme!)
Careful MV... teasing the fans like this is a bit like dangling a steak in front of a rabid dog.
In all due seriousness, this is one of my most anticipated releases in a long, long time and I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up as my favorite release of the year. I absolutely loved La la land's millennium release and I expect this will be just as good.
Is anyone planning to hang on to their Darkness and the Light CDs? I have to say, given when that album was released and the nature of the soundtrack market at the time, it was a remarkably good album and it still gets a lot of play time in my house. It's one of the few score releases with dialogue which I enjoy. The dialogue and the music together very nicely capture the feel of the first couple of seasons of the show. I wonder how much music from that album will make an appearance on the set?

Chris.
Actually I had only ever had this on cassette. But I just ordered the CD from Amazon for 75 cents.
Pretty cool to wait all these years and we are still jazzed by Snow's music. I think the guy wrote amazing themes, married them to fantastic story telling. Stuff that truly has stood the test of time. Over a decade? Not many TV shows (out of the thousands that try to make it past the pilot) can boast that kind of musical legacy. I'm really waiting to hear: "The Field Where I Died" in all it's glory...here's hoping it makes the cut.
$49 is an INSANELY generous price...hats off to LaLa Land! I can't waaait!!
Scully: "Snake handling. I didn't learn that in catechism class" Mulder: "That's funny - I knew a couple of catholic school girls who were experts at it!"
