This might interest some here, this was written by Bruce Kimmel, one of the founders alone with Chris Kuchler, Tom Null Dub Taylor and somewhat later Scot W. Holton who started VARESE SARABANDE RECORDS and help make it the company it is today. This is from Bruce's blog : "Haines His Way" "THE REAL HISTORY OF VARESE SARABANDE" http://www.haineshisway.com/archives/003963.html I think you'll find it interesting. Ford A. Thaxton

Wow! Thanks for sharing this about a man I already admired greatly. His role in the success of Varese should be considered more than the mere footnote it has become. Congrats on the 35th anniversary of your many soundtrack successes everywhere they have occurred, Bruce.

Like BRUCE says, one should not fraught over the decisions we make in our lives, what happens, happens, Yes, those moves we make in life how they change everything for the good or the bad, I always said, world fame , millions and maybe billions of dollars in all our lives are always only a few steps and a few decisions away, But life is life, one never knows the road one chooses where it would lead. The mystery of life. No sense in lingering on with what could have been, Enjoy the moment.

Very interesting indeed.

Anyone interested in that should read the second of Kimmel's memoirs, "Album Produced By", where he goes into it (and lots, lots more) in much greater detail.

My takeaway from this is that Bruce is directly responsible for Jerry Goldsmith not winning the Academy Award for ST:TMP. So now, when I invent my time machine, I have a plan...

Yes, Bruce Kimmel is the reason why ST:TMP went away empty-headed. In my next life, I'm gonna find him and... *shakes fist* KIMMELLLLL!!!!!!!!

This is going to make a great caper film. A ragtag group of misfits who only know each other from an internet message board must bond together to go back in time and steal every copy of A Little Romance LP, all the while being chased by Bruce Kimmel (who will star as himself as well as produce two big showstopping musical numbers).

I'll always be grateful to Bruce, in spite of his more prickly moments, for his being the moving force behind the Varese release of that great CD of the Mutel Music used in the SUPERMAN tv series. As the soundtrack to my childhood, it remains one of my top 10 releases of the last 15 years. Thanks again, Bruce.
