Is it picture clue day today?
There's been so much in-fighting in this thread that those crazy VS picture clues might just tip some people over the edge!!
Things could Go Nuclear!!

That deserves something much happier than an angry red emoji. It's pretty hilarious watching people get so worked up over Varese not catering to them.

We don't even know who they're not catering to yet because we don't even have the clues yet! Bonkers thread.

Part of the fun is guessing while we wait. I’m hoping for more Goldsmith personally but I know whatever Varese releases will thrill and delight soundtrack fans of those titles.

Brainstorm with complete film score with the re-recording remastered?

Yes it's me again. God loves an optimist.

We need someone to mock up a picture of Eric Stoltz from the LIONHEART OST cover with Yavar's head atop it.
Cos he's gonna need that kinda armour when the sh!t goes down and those weren't the droids they (the cranks) were looking for!

Yavar, don't feed trolls. Replying does nothing but give them more fuel to shit on you. That aside, they're not worth the time and thought it takes to reply. The ignore function exists for this reason.

I appreciate the support everyone, but I did know that I would get a backlash from some people when I took Cody to task for his entitled attitude. This has somehow become about me being cyber-bullied, which is not what it was about originally. I realize it's a long thread though so that may have been lost/missed by many people. Blocking Cody and others might make things easier for me, but it doesn't actually solve the problem which prompted my comments in the first place.

Don't know the latter, but I really hope Aspen Extreme gets released by Intrada some day for you Kev -- I'll buy a copy!

Oh, that’s rich. I love it. Please don’t stop being you.

Oh don't worry -- I won't!

On the other hand if you'd like to stop being you that would be just fantastic.

P.S. Find me a time in the past decade where I expected a label to lose thousands of dollars and risk going out of business, just to cater to my tastes. If you do, I'll offer a public mea culpa to Cody, you, and all of my "fans".

Enough!

I don't have a horse in this race, but all of the comments saying that Yavar has been or is being cyber-bullied I think are inappropriate.

Cody made a couple of negative comments directed at a record company--not directed at anybody on these threads. Easy enough to disagree with, perhaps, and easier again to fault along logical lines, but Yavar, respectfully, your first response was to personally attack Cody, stating that all he does is complain and so on. Cody, of course, responded to that, attacking you, and from there it went, back and forth. Eventually, Cody dropped out of the thread.

As I already said, I don't bring any biases into this. I appreciate Cody's passion for the Golden Age scores, and I appreciate Yavar's love of Goldsmith's 60s era, which is the time period I first got interested in film music. I don't always agree with you two, or with anybody else on these threads, and these threads are here for discussion, dispute, argument, and so on.

But, please, can we please refrain from attacking each other personally?

Here's the final scene by itself. Lot of scoring there.

God, you whine so much. And cannot stop worshipping at the alter of these labels. Are you hoping for a job at Intrada? Cody can wish for whatever CD he wants. Just as you do. It doesn’t matter that a company may or may lose money. But to you he’s entitled?

Oh, so I'm "whining" somehow here but Cody is merely "wishing" when he writes the following in this thread (which is what prompted my reply to him):

From Varese you are sure to get another "recycled" title. Their last premiere title worth acquiring was ROOSTER COGBURN.
...
SCHLOCK IS IN !
...
Yes,I would like an expanded MAC ARTHUR and an expanded 13th WARRIOR, but you won't get it. It's too good for Varese to release. They want only Goldsmith's minor scores from minor films.

So none of that was "whining" to you. Gee...the closest I see to "wishing" is when he agrees with someone else's wishes but tells them "you won't get it. It's too good for Varese to release." Ah, you're right. What aspirational participation in this thread and forum! I'm such a bad guy, stomping on his dreams with my inconvenient facts! (So tell me...why do you worship at the altar of Cody?)

Maybe you just have different definitions from me of "whine", "worship", and "wish". Pointing out the facts of structural reasons why Varese is less likely release either of those titles isn't worshipping. I even made clear that when a label actually made a mistake, they should be called out on it. But in this case anyone reasonable and informed can see that trying to please Cody would be the mistake on their part.

No that’s not whining and he’s not wrong. You continue to act like a child about this. I can’t believe this is what makes you go crazy. So have you had an interview yet at Varese? I bet the health benefits are amazing. I can only imagine what you’re like in real life.

Sad. Very sad. It's like watching a peacock preening itself over and over again in front of everyone, while all can see its plumage fell out ages ago.

No that’s not whining and he’s not wrong. You continue to act like a child about this. I can’t believe this is what makes you go crazy.

He IS wrong that Varese has no interest in expanding The 13th Warrior or MacArthur. He IS wrong that taste is the reason those things haven't come out yet. Every label knows that expanded Goldsmith scores are pretty much guaranteed sales. If you think there's a single Goldsmith score that any label would pass up expanding at this point if they had the opportunity, you're wrong. Well...maybe adding a minute long cue to Six Degrees of Separation or 2-4 minutes to Mr. Baseball would be pushing it.

So have you had an interview yet at Varese? I bet the health benefits are amazing. I can only imagine what you’re like in real life.

You're as gleefully ignorant as Cody. Varese basically has a single full time employee at this point, plus a handful of contractors who I'm sure don't get health benefits. I'd be happy to be paid something for the work I do for them, but I have no expectations of it and I intend to keep helping them pro bono when I can even though I've now got a full time job with health benefits again. Because unlike you or Cody they actually make a contribution to film music and I want to help them do the best they can during these difficult times. Getting two unreleased cues onto the new Lionheart was reward enough for me, and I'll always have that for myself as something I did for Goldsmith fans everywhere. You want to mock that, fine, knock yourself out...but maybe occasionally have the self reflection to ask yourself: AITA?
