hey guys, my copy arrived! I just checked all the discs and they're in great shape and came easily out of the case! Can't wait to dive into this set.smile

LLL box sets are great! Varese could learn a thing or two from them...

So, years after the release of this Box Set and I STILL listen to music from it every week. Literally every week. Sometimes 4 to 5 times a week. I have all of the released uploaded to my iphone. I also created a compilation playlist. Here is my compilation playlist -

Lethal Weapon 1 - Amanda, She Just Dove, Suicide, Helicopter/Riggs Walks to Tart, They've Got My Daughter/Is Riggs Dead? Or What?, The Desert, Hummingbird Treatment, Riggs Escapes, We're Leaving, General's Car, S.O.B Knows Where I Live, Yard Fight/Graveside, Lethal Weapon (By Honeymoon Suite), The Weapon (from the OST)

Lethal Weapon 2 - Main Title, Chase the Red BMW, Krugerrand, Mullholand Chase, Helicopters Approach, Helicopter Attack, You Can Stay With Me, Riggs Captured, Riggs Fights Back, Carrying Rika on the Beach, Stilt House Falls, Drive to Shipyard, Knockin' On Heaven's Door/Riggs Dying, Cheer Down, Still Cruisin' (After All of These Years), Knockin' On Heaven's Door (Randy Crawford),

Lethal Weapon 3 - Armored Car Chase, Man's Best Friend/Lorna's First Fight, Gun Montage/Lorna's Second Fight, Gun Battle, Fire/Fire Battle/A Quiet Evening by the Fire, It's Probably Me, Runaway Train (One of my all time favorite songs)

Lethal Weapon 4 - Leo's Shark/Boys On Boat, Marriage Talk, Freeing Slaves, Chinatown Chase, House Fight, Freeway Chase, Riggs On Table, Four Fathers, Warehouse Fight/Showdown, Underwater Fight, Underwater Fight Concludes, Murtaugh To The Rescue, Cemetery, Hospital/Babies.

Because I work 8 hours of manual labor and often will play music, I will listen to this entire compilation in a work shift a few times a week sometimes. I would have to say this release has probably gotten the most play time out of me than any other release ever. This is Michael Kamen's best work in my opinion and I am so thankful to have this score.

It is indeed a great set and I revisit it often as well. Kamen's music for the series is an absolute highlight of his career, he imbued it with character and affection through the recurring themes & motifs and the colorful instrumentation.

Agreed!! I was obsessed with Kamens music in these films. Would dream of one day imagining what it would be like to hear the music apart from the films. The soundtracks were so poorly assembled for us Kamen fans. I remember hearing “Leo Geotz Goes To A Hockey Game” expecting the propulsive chase music off the ice and going WTF is this? upon hearing the track. La La released for me the greatest score collection with this set. For weeks I couldn’t stop playing the wealth of treasures in the set. LW 2 for me is the cream of the crop. Gonna go play Mulholland Chase now!

Back in stock, on sale for 18% off through November 9th, and when this current stock of 500 are sold, the title will be OOP.

Thanks for the alert! Even though it was never labeled out of print I thought I missed out on this one. That extra 18% definitely helped, too. Also picked up Waterworld, which I hadn’t realized was back in stock.

Ordered.

Been waiting for this for ages. The 18% off also covers the shipping to Australia. Nicely done La La Land! Happy 18th!

I've spent far too much money during this pandemic but have plenty of great scores to listen too...

...and Black Friday is not far off too (though we've had some fantastic releases of late regardless!)

What a great set! I've had it for a couple of years & don't think I've heard it all yet, it's a set I dip in & out of when I'm in the mood.

Such an excellent set of music! If anyone is interested, I did a two episode focus on these scores for my podcast, A Score To Settle, links are below. The first episode I attempt to put the LW scores in context of previous cop/detective movie scores and in the 2nd episode I place the scores in context of what else Kamen was composing around the same time frame:

Thanks! I had wanted to produce an episode or two on these scores on my podcast for awhile and finally spent the time on research and a contextual focus.

Thanks for sharing the links. Will definitely check them out soon.

For anyone on the fence I would highly recommend picking up this set. So many great cues over all four scores and easily one of my favorite sets.

I agree 100 percent. Do not miss out on this score! The sound quality is superb and every track is worth listening to in full.

Hehe. I checked back and saw my posts regarding whether this set was going to be released without the box or jewel cases. What was I thinking?

I've never bought this . So I played the samples again and I remember why. I don't care for the twangy guitar or squeaky stuff. So,question - how much twangy geetarr and squeaky sax is there ( roughly). I like the ' proper' music though, no problem. I don't want to buy a box of twang n squeak.
