So did we ever get an official reason or press release explaining why this doesn't have a purchase option yet? It can't be because of "bonus tracks" or whatever other people had said, because the tracks we have on the streaming services aren't spoilers.
Isn't it because the download will contain bonus tracks not (yet ?) available on the streaming platforms ?
This is the worst film I've seen by Sam Raimi (and yes, I've seen SPIDERMAN 3) Apart from one or two of his typical flourishes, it gives credence to the claim by all those 'other' directors about the generic, conveyer belt line of Marvel Superhero films and how they are (mass) produced. For the most part, I couldn't have told you if it was even directed by a human, such was the endless barrage of CGI FX that assaulted my senses. It was like sitting and observing someone playing a computer game for 2 hours, with barely any logic or coherence. Even Elfman's score battered the senses, which is pitched at 11 from the start and pretty much stays there for the duration (admittedly there are some great moments scattered within the score and I did love most of the sad/emotional moments...plus I really liked the 'musical notes' battle near the end). When the ending FINALLY!! rolls around, I was left incredulous by its outcome. IS THAT IT?? I thought, as it rendered the previous 2 hours completely pointless. It literally is one of those 'Oh, alright then' finales that beggars belief. Of course, none of this matters one jot, as these films make millions/billions regardless. And I was onboard with their previous 20+ film series that culminated with the double AVENGERS battle/outcome, so I'm not some comic book/Marvel hater. Now, I just feel they're going around in circles, dropping some lame cameos in that (hopefully) sends the audience berserk. My future watching this series is on very thin ice.
Nope! Love Raimi. Big fan. Generally enjoyed these new Marvel Universe doodah's. Was even relieved to see I didn't need to know about WandaVision (enough is alluded to in order to get by). Just didn't get into/was bored by the whole CGI-verse. It was the worse one since the second THOR film. Maybe it's Marvel/Superhero fatigue starting to set in? Like I said...not a hater. Have you seen it CL?

Sadly, I agree, and I feel like the idea of a composer leaving himself some place to go is a lost art. (And yes, of course, this has a lot to do with the films being made and the committees they're made by.) Even scores famous for their bombast – two off the top of my head would be Superman and North by Northwest – are carefully modulated so there's something left for the climax. Here (and in so many films I see now), the climax is the eighteenth sequence with a pummeling score, and there's nothing left.

Being housebound, I can't see it until it hits streaming. Apologies for getting the wrong impression.
The film itself was okay - I also felt the same about Wandavision. The film was originally 2 hours and 40mins and was cut down and had several reshoots to accommodate new story elements etc. The only moment in the score that resonated to me was the very brief nod to Ron Wasserman, and I'm still hoping that music gets included on the updated digital album if it happens. I won't stop watching Marvel films TV anytime soon - there are some great gems like Loki, and moon Knight. I'm also hoping She-hulk is a great time.
I'm just eagerly awaiting the Fantastic Four, and hopefully eventual Silver Surfer films. Can't wait to see who gets to score those projects.

I'm clueless, and I realize people are probably politely avoiding spoilers here, but I've seen the film and I know Ron personally but I have no idea what this is referencing. (I'm not steeped in Marvel lore, and I'm guessing this has to do with a cartoon theme?)

This theme:
Is in the movie, but it not on the (existing) OST album.
Same. I just really don't want who they got in the Dr Strange movie to play Reed Richards. I had always hoped to see Bruce Greenwood in the role but he may have aged out of the part
Dang, the "Illuminati" track is short enough to trigger iTunes' 30-second sample rule. They're making us wait the duration for that Wasserman quote. Having little desire to see this (by all accounts) bloated and disturbing entry in the ever more sporadically satisfying post-Endgame MCU, I'm eager to sample this track tomorrow.
