Best buy: FSM's Poseidon Adventure/Paper Chase/Conrack near mint for US$6.99. Think someone screwed up the pricing there...

same price as i paid

Oh. Am I labouring under the misapprehension that it's worth more? Or did we both just get lucky?

Found a few things reasonably cheap at Amoeba on Tuesday...

FSM's The Five Man Army for $12.99. Hole-punched and a minor scratch, but still a bargain.

A bunch of bargain bins CDs for $2.99: Kung Fu Panda, Bolt, The Pink Panther Strikes Again. The Cantonese issue of Mulan with Jackie Chan singing "I'll Make A Man Out Of You," for $1.99

GREAT FILM THEMES from MGM &UA films
V.1
V.2

there are a lot of great themes and rarities on these two sets.
A great way to get alot of the FSM stuff on one disc w/o having to buy the whole scores for LOGAN'S RUN. GREAT TRAIN RONBBERY, THE PRIZE, FOUR HORSEMAN,etc.

and it has a Vaughan Williams score for an MGM film from the 40's !!!!!!!

Oddly enough I don't get out much to have a rummage around.

However the two Varsese 25 and 30th Anniversary sets were on Amazon and as they were missed at the time, i.e expense. So it was 20 quid for one and 23 for the other, and having listened to the first and thoroughly enjoyed it,i am very looking forward to listening to the second set.

£4 for Along came a Spider was a nice surprise though. And 17.49 for the expanded Extreme Prejudice, which i thought i'd never get my hands on, was also a revelation and very enjoyable.

Just shows what you can find online with just a bit of digging.

I scored some bargain CD soundtracks today:

• Indecent Proposal (John Barry) $7
• All I Want For Christmas (Bruce Broughton) $3
• Cape Fear (Elmer Bernstein's adaptation of Bernard Hermann's score) $9
• Nightmare Before Christmas (Danny Elfman) $5

and for those who like musicals:

• The Student Prince / The Desert Song (Mario Lanza double) $7
• Love Never Dies (2CD of ALW's Phantom sequel) $15
• Broadway First Take (Hello Dolly, Gigi, How To Succeed) $12
• Assassins (Stephen Sondheim) $7
• 42nd Street (Harry Warren) $7

The store had plenty more. Is John Morris' SCARLETT valuable? I saw it for $12. I might go back and get SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION ($7) and RAMBO II ($12 for original Varese release).

I found 2010 (David Shire, 1984) "Printed In Japan" for $23.00 at FYE. I'm pretty sure this will be re-issued (most likely by Intrada), but I went ahead and got it anyway. It is a great score, and the Andy Summers "disco 2001 theme" song is pretty cool too.

My favorite one happened last year when I was looking through the New Arrivals rack at a Half Price Books and found an absolute Mint copy of John Williams' DRACULA for $6.98.

Danielle Steele's Zoya, score by William Goldstein and Basil Poledouris. It's really starting to grow on me.

Y'know, it's kind of pointless to post in a "used bins" list without saying what you actually paid for your aquisitions. wink

I just remembered another one of my lucky strikes. Walked into a thrift shop in Palm Springs and found the Academy CD of Goldsmith's expanded MULAN score. For just a few bucks, of course.
