Finally arrived, my first FSM in many moons. Gracenotes didn't recognise the disc so I had to key in all the info for the ipod (no big deal). And it's another title crossed off my little list, the first this year (& only one last year, The Sand Pebbles), hopefully there will be one or two others before the years end. No posts from Lukas on this thread yet, I think he's had enough of it all already.

Loving this. Fascinating to find that one of my most-wanted tracks ("Searching for Matty / Agreement [film edit]), since I first saw the film many years ago, was not the music originally intended for that scene. The alternate version of "She Tries" is really great--love the more subdued quality of it--though the piece used in the film is more fitting for the scene. The melancholy intro that appears on both versions of "She Tries" is mixed pretty low in the film so I hadn't really noticed it before, but it's now one of my favorite "discoveries" on this soundtrack. It's reminiscent of Barry's later work on MIKE'S MURDER. I also like "3M4," which does not appear in the finished film and which is another form of the theme heard in "She Tries." Another new addition, which I'm especially fond of is "See Ya / 11M1." Have seen the film many times, but I really hadn't heard and / or appreciated "See Ya," which is heard as Ned drives down to Miami, after his boardwalk meeting with Lowenstein.

Why should we compare the original soundtrack with the re-recording on the Moviola-CD? When you compare the sound quality of the FSM with the SCSE you'll notice a lack of high end in the FSM.
