Any Rozsa titles on this year’s release roster?

Any Rozsa candidates in particular you're interested in? Now that LLL is working more with Universal, I have my hopes set on an expanded/complete release of A Time to Love and a Time to Die, or some of those earlier 40s noir titles like Brute Force. Any hope, MV? Another I'd particularly like to ask about is Sodom & Gomorrah. I really fear MV may be uninterested because of the superb Tadlow recording and *two* Digitmovies issues. But the simple fact is that the RCA Italy 2 LP program as released by Digitmovies was made to sound horrible with the audio processing they did on it (and their reissue made no improvement in that area). I have heard the LP set sounds drastically better, but it's rare so I've never been able to hear a copy. I for one would very much love a new good-sounding LLL edition of this fantastic score as conducted by the composer...LLL has worked with Sony-owned RCA titles in the past. So any hope? Yavar

Yavar Chiefly, the Universal titles you mentioned, especially now that LLL has an agreement with them, if anything survived for them. I'm particularly interested in A Time to Love and a Time to Die.

Any chance the Richard LaSalle score from Irwin Allen's 1971 City Beneath the Sea could get a release? If the source materials survive, naturally. It's very similar to his Land of the Giants scores with a really good main theme and all those great Planet of the Apes references we love so much! Nope Womp womp.

Are you guys still planning on releasing Kamen's X-Men? If you are, can we expect it this year? Would love to

Yavar This is an interesting idea, as I owned the Digitmovies and was profoundly unimpressed. It's a top ten score for me.

If you're curious, Wagner Almighty, here's what the Italian 2 LP set looks like...still apparently the best issue of this score under the composer's baton. (If you have to get a CD of the original, get the 1 hour one as it sounds far better than the Digitmovies 2 CD.) https://lpcover.wordpress.com/2016/04/02/sodom-and-gomorrah-4/ Yavar

Are you guys still planning on releasing Kamen's X-Men? If you are, can we expect it this year? Would love to Sounds as though X-Men won’t make it this year, though I could be reading too much into the above comment. I hope the Disney/Fox merger hasn’t blown LLLR’s chance of releasing it. I know. I was disheartened by that too. If the merger really is the cause for the delays (and obviously this is only speculation), then that really sucks from a business standpoint. I would reasonably expect that there were contracts or some other legal agreement between Fox and LLL to release the album. Disney shouldn't be able to say "oh well, so sad" and yank the deal. Of course, I'm no businessman or lawyer--just a very frustrated fan. Now I'm really worried about their expanded release of The Diary of Anne Frank...

Dear MV, Can you say whether your planned/long hinted-at Waxman expansions (i.e. Sayonara and The Spirit of St. Louis...and maybe one other?) are still being worked on? As much as I did appreciate your nice-sounding twofer reissue of Peyton/Hemmingway, I do suspect that significant expansions of those popular scores (especially St. Louis) would have better sales potential. Hey MV! Is the 2LP of Close Encounters coming any time soon? Any plans for an LP of Die Hard or ALIEN3?

We have a number of Fox projects lined up. As far as we know Dusney will honor all the contracts we have. As for the Waxman titles Sony Music has decided to not do deals any more with all the labels so it does throw a monkey wrench into some plans. Hopefully things will change. We'll see MV
