In any case... no shame AT ALL (on the contrary) if the rest of "The Cyborg" score gets to Volume 2.
I think a lot of Voyage's fans would love to hear the great cues that were used many times during the last seasons.
But again... a great THANK YOU for that long awaited release!!!
Yes. LaLaLand, It needs be said how much happiness you've brought to so many middle-age kids. The set, in the words of David Hedison, can be best described as "marvelous", and then way beyond that. Multiple thumbs up!
"Monster from the Inferno." Lord knows why, but this is one of my favorite episodes. Sure, it's just an evil alien episode, but there's so much going for it. Dick Tufeld's robust performance as the Alien Brain is great. He sells it as the petulant being bent on taking over the galaxy. The cast, even though they've seen better material, are all energetic. It's the first episode of the third season, so they're all rested and probably happy to see each other at least. Basehart and Hedison are fantastic and Nelson gets a lot of physical action as well as an early example of "I'll go whip up the new weapon in the lab" which would be so common as the series wore on. The reactor room and circuitry room will become regular playgrounds going forward. The music by Leith Stevens is amazing and becomes standard for the series. Nathan Juran's direction is crisp and the pacing is non-stop. The cutting between the jettisoned alien and the Seaview as she slowly crawled to the surface was nail biting. And the relief that Basehart conveyed as Nelson in the last moments was extremely satisfying. I have no doubt Irwin considered this one a winner, giving the audience what it wanted. It set the tone for the third season which, at its best, was great fun.

Indeed! I had a blast watching the episode earlier. Loved Nelson's relieved "it's been a long day". Great episode, great score, great cast!

Advise & Consent/Scott McOldsmith - how are you all watching the Irwin Allen shows? I have only been able to find "Lost in Space" on Hulu, but would love to see "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea" as well!
What @Jeff Bond said. I have Voyage and Land of the Giants on DVD, Lost in Space and The Time Tunnel on Blu Ray. The Region 1 DVDs for Voyage and Giants are getting hard to find for cheap, but if you live in the UK or have a region free DVD player, you can get them in nice box sets on single side DVDs.
However, a lot - iof not all - episodes have been uploaded on YouTube in a variety of formats and languages.
@ Mr. Nathan Erickson: A lot like Mr. Bond and Mr. McOldsmith, but I would also add several season one episodes on Vimeo (English with French subtitles). If you don't mind watching the episodes from seasons 2 to 4 in French (which is how I was initiated to the series when I was 8), most of them are on Youtube in pretty good quality.
Meanwhile, the cue from Time Bomb "Get Into the Car / Litchka's Apartment" is just bloody beautiful. Really a lovely piece. Just thought I'd put that out there....

Indeed! I love the entire score, including "Get Into the Car / Litchka's Apartment" which is just marvellous. Gotta love the jazzy "Checklist " and the use of Jerry's theme as well.
Like the diving sequences, the checklist was fairly quickly eliminated as it just took up too much screen time. Although the way some of the third season episodes were padded, they could have put them back in. However, the music behind these were usually great.
It's strange they seem to introduce the Flying Sub to viewers at least twice, in "Time Bomb" and "The Left-Handed Man" ("Penfield's Inspection/Penfield's First Flight").
