Just made a donation to help make it happen.

Would love to see our very own Dogplant work his Photo Shop magic or anyone so inclined to create an image of James Earl Jones wearing a Cowboy Hat and with a Black Eye Patch on one of his eyes.

THE MAN sporting a BLACK PATCH.

That would be Awesome!

Here's to BLACK PATCH/ THE MAN becoming a reality! Cheers!

Most likely in a J.J. Abrams Alternate Universe, the Soundtrack Score LP of BLACK PATCH was released back in the day and Sammy Davis Jr. sporting his always cool black eyepatch, sang on an excellent featured track, the "Love Theme" from BLACK PATCH. It's such a great Love Theme and Sammy was such an Awesome singer! I'd love to hear it. The BLACK PATCH movie was released in 1957 and I believe Sammy's accident which after he sported his eyepatch happened later than 1957. But heck, it's a J.J. Abrams Alternate Universe and anything can happen in a J.J. Abrams Alternate Universe, right?

Got to thinking of Sammy today when the eatery I was snacking at outside, piped out "THE CANDY MAN" on their exterior speakers.

Just curious, perhaps Lukas would definitely know.

How many FSM Board Members are there in total? How many of us are there? In the hundreds? Thousands? Be nice to know. Cause if there are 3,000 plus of us and we all made a pledge of 10 dollars or lowest pledge amount, this thing would be done. I know a lot of us here, including myself have already pledged.

Really curious to know how many FSM Board Members we are.

Do we have the numbers of Dumbledore's Army?

We should start a poll, predicting when the goal will be met. I'll venture August 19 at 1400h CDT. Sorry no prizes, just bragging rights. And if someone wants to cheat and decide to make a timed contribution putting us over the top, that's fine too!

This is happening at quite a rate. I just hope it's fully funded and doesn't end up $50 short or something like that.

Nicholas_DW, forever the optimist.

Wonder if James Earl Jones has made a pledge? Wonder if he knows who Jerry Goldsmith even is?

Would be cool if THE MAN himself would push this over the finish line.

I would love to hear him sing Jerry's gorgeous BLACK PATCH Love Theme!

Well...I always read the same couple of names here...so I hardly believe the army is that big...but someone knows.
Hope the Kickstarter will reach its goal.

I nominate Nicholas_DW to add the final $50. He can afford it, he's an optimist.

Not everyone of those members has any interest in this,
Not everyone of those members is willing to contribute to KS projects at all.

I always find the "if everyone just contributed X" stuff to be so silly, as if there's some weird obligation or whatever.

So in other words, people should "go fund yourself." "Fund" is the new F-word.

As of now, 11.5 days after its launch the Kickstarter stands at $35,130 with only $2,870 left to go. And it just hit an important milestone: its 404th backer — this is how many backers Dial M for Murder, a much more famous title, received at the end of its 30 day campaign… three years ago when we were living in far less uncertain times pre-pandemic.

DIAL M FOR MURDER may be a much more famous title as it is a Hitchcock film, but it certainly was and is not at all famous for its music. Therefore throughout all the years there was little to no request among soundtrack collectors for a re-recording of the complete score which just doesn´t play such an important part in this very theater-like and dialogue-ridden movie.
Add to all this the fact that of course nowadays there exist much more Goldsmith fanboys than there are ones for Tiomkin - above all on this or on the Intrada board. So a certain number of fans will buy any unreleased Goldsmith title if it comes their way. On the other hand, most soundtrack collectors will probaly only buy the big epic Tiomkin scores whereas for the smaller ones there may exist only a very small circle of fans.
And you also have to consider that without that unnamed final big supporter that Kickstarter campaign for DIAL M would probably have even failed to reach its goal.

Since new recordings of older scores became popular by a few labels,I always felt it should be something BIG like Intrada did with JULIUS CAESAR,IVANHOE, SPELLBOUND and THE RED HOUSE or Tadlow has done for so many of their projects.

In fact a couple months ago my dad was talking to me about recently having seen it and not liking the music at all. On the flip side, he was praising the music to North by Northwest to the nines.
