Liionheart was more like July because of sloppiness.

I ordered it in April and received it mid August. big grin

If Varese keeps this pace of new clubs every two months

They've actually been releasing club titles every 1.6 months this year.

  • Friday January 8th - Looney Tunes Back In Action & Babe
  • Friday March 19th (10 weeks later) - Along Came A Spider & The Serpent and the Rainbow
  • Friday April 30th (6 weeks later) - Lionheart & Knowing
  • Friday June 11th (6 weeks later) - The Matrix and Paycheck
  • Friday August 27th (11 weeks later) - Love Field & Dante's Peak

This seriously reads like a Star Trek parody.

Kirk- "Correct me if I'm wrong, but Varese releases club titles approximately every 2 months."
Spock- "Incorrect Captain, every 1.6 months to be precise."
    Kirk- "every 1.6 months...."

Just out of curiosity HalloweenBorg...so you list LOVE FIELD and DANTES PEAK...are those two now confirmed?

No, they have not been confirmed by Varese yet.

    They have been now.

    and both now ordered smile
Looking forward to Love Field - a film / score I've never heard of before now and Dante's Peak - a great score for a not-too-bad film which was poorly served by the original album. Looking forward to listening to it in all it's glory.

You aren't that behind the rest of us: technically those of us who own the original 28.5 minute album have only heard half of the Goldsmith score, and the running time of his music in the film is even shorter since the score was substantially unused (although there are some cues in the film but not on the album). This is going to be a revelation for most people, I predict. I'm even curious to hear the solo piano replacement cues by Bill Payne, because Roger had only nice things to say about those cues, over at the Intrada forum a few years back:

Ah! I love Friday: finishing off work, eyeing the beers chilling in the fridge, and a newly-expanded Goldsmith score to order and look forward to!

Oh well, nothing I wanted or wished for. Just have to placate myself with a package of Megadeathstuffed Oreos.

Check out the Goldsmith Odyssey Soundtrack Spotlight episode (hopefully we can get it out in a week or so) and see if it might change your mind. Half of Love Field will be new to you.

It doesn't work that way, Yavar. I'm a gold/silver age fan, so the only Goldsmith titles I'd want are THE OTHER and MEPHISTO WALTZ.

This is where it's at, and you can't stop me.

You know, one day Varese will release a deluxe Brainstorm, and the internet will explode.

Most forum members here will race to their nearest beach, fall to their knees and do their best Charlton Heston impression:
'Those crazy bastard's finally did it!" they'll yell in despair.

    One day, but not today.

A few months ago the shipping costs (in Italy) for 1 CD from Varese International were £ 5.50, now I've seen it's £ 13 ??? (Sorry for my poor English)

Funny how the fat cats have been pushing globalisation for years and now they are charging us the Earth trying to tax us out of it.

Overseas shipping costs have been going up and up for over a decade now. I used to be able to mail a CD to, say, Britain for maybe six or so dollars. The last time I mailed a CD overseas years ago, I think I paid somewhere over thirteen dollars. At that point I decided to cut out selling anything overseas, 'cause it would too expensive to ship and unreasonable to ask a fellow collector to pay shipping on top of the CD sale price. Hell, it's getting pricy to ship inside the U.S.; if I can avoid it, I won't even ship to Hawaii, Alaska, and even New York.

What does the Varese symbol represent? I have some of their CDs and always wondered. It is supposed to be a random paint splash?

From Varese's own website: “the label’s iconic logo – a frequent curiosity of fans around the globe -is actually an inkblot created by blowing a straw on a piece of paper with India ink.”

I got Dante's Peak today. Can't wait to listen to it. I've also ordered Knowing, but got Knight Rider instead. I've e-mailed Awesome Distro about it and I'm waiting for their reply.
