Y'know, it's kind of pointless to post in a "used bins" list without saying what you actually paid for your aquisitions. wink

Okay. I amended my earlier post. wink

It seems to be selling in the $40. range these days. Even picking it up for $20. is worth a shot.

I was in Amoeba SF today, returning a disappointing R3 DVD of Drunken Master II (No English subtitles) and picked up the Network 2-DVD set of The Ipcress File.

When I examined it on the bus, turns out it was a 3-disc set that also included a CD of Barry's excellent score. Ended up just paying $10. for it, with a trade slip.

Found today at Goodwill for $1.99 each:
A Little Princess by Patrick Doyle
Driving Miss Daisy by Hans Zimmer
Malice by Jerry Goldsmith

Haven't had a listen yet, but for $1.99 each, can't go too far wrong I am sure.

I wish I had the stores around that you guys go to, the only soundtracks I find (and I have to look really hard!) are awful all-song-no-score albums, many of which from TV shows that put them out as a cash-cow. Unless I'm just looking in the wrong places.

In 2000, I had ventured into a rather remote mid-sized town on a lark.

I entered a very eclectic store that sold hobby kits, rebuilt juke boxes and... a huge second hand CD section. On that day, I found Link (my heart skipped a beat), Camille Claudel, Suspect, The Knights of the Round Table (Varese), The Thief of Bagdad (Varese) and several others. All of the discs were priced 11.99 or 12.99 tax included. A few months later, I found the Seventh Voyage of Sinbad (first Varese release) and The Adventures of Baron Munchausen.

I have found many a great score on the cheap, but those were truly a King's ransom and a half. So when a fellow collector and enthusiast gets a break... well, I say all the power to him!

Congrat!

Well it's been some time since I've been able to go CD shopping to a physical store, but, hopefully soon I can scour the bins again.

But last month I dropped about 70 Varese cassettes at my local Goodwill, so, maybe someone will enjoy them. Good stuff from the pre UNI days to the last cassettes.

Someone around here has been unloading their Varese CDs. Over the past couple of months, I've picked these up from a local used CD shop:

Terminator 3 - Marco Beltrami

What Lies Beneath - Alan Silvestri

Ghost Ship - John Frizzell

Lost Season 3 - Michael Giacchino (Seasons 1 & 2 are still there, on the shelf, beckoning me.)

At Amoeba Records this weekend I picked up Hudson Hawk and The Peacemaker, both used, and for about $7 each. I knew of these both from friends who owned copies, but never got one myself. I have a soft spot for both scores, for some reason! I also saw Bad Girls there for $25, but already have a copy...
