Well, shoot. Over half the units gone in 24 hours. Guess nobody wanted this release afterall. MV/ It's that wonderful cover art. You have these different blue shades, the white lettering, and that red jacket on Elliot that grabs you in. I'm sold. Oh, and then there's the music.... Vewry MaxB

My guess is that E.T. will sell out by next week? My guess is that E.T. will still be here in a year from now. JP hasn't sold out yet, and it hadn't had so many releases beforehand like E.T.

Zoiks!! Over 2500 sold in a day!! Well done LaLa. The Power of John Williams compels us! The Power of John Williams compels us! My guess is that E.T. will sell out by next week? No, not that quickly, but we are very very happy with the results. MV

Price point is an issue though. Expensive sets are harder for people to afford at once: Lethal Weapon Jurassic Park/Lost World Batman Collection The Naked Gun (until they dropped the price significantly) Lost In Space Granted, the Batman Collection sold out before being reissued, but it's actually cheaper than Jurassic Park/Lost World. E.T. is a pretty standard price.

OneBuckFilms: I certainly would love to get this in my CD player. Lightning struck for the seventh time for John Williams with this sumptuous score. However, this was only the second time, the first being Star Wars, that the sound engineering was just as cutting edge as the music. With Bruce Botnick's hybrid analogue/digital sound, and the brightness of the MGM soundstage, we really got, even through the compromised MCA vinyl, a really standout score with thrilling reproduction. I can't wait to hear how it sounds, too.

As we are nearing the release date; I'am wondering if the delay from 22nd was intentionally delayed to 26th so as to coincide with the DVD Blu-ray release ? Anyways, hoping the international orders ship first, come 26th as they usually take the longest to reach the far flung destinations.

And ... it's delayed another week. From the LLL site: E.T. SHIPPING NOTICE: There has been a manufacturing error with DISC 1 of E.T. and this disc needs to be repressed before the factory can finish production. This has delayed the customer start shipping date to 10/3. We are extremely sorry for this unforeseen delay, but we need to make sure we do not have defective protect. E.T. will start shipping on 10/3. Thank you for your patience. I'll try to be patient ...

I'd rather wait a few more days for a flawless disc.
