I'd pledge $200 towards Intrada re-recording their re-recording of Spellbound, this time with Stromberg and the RSNO instead of that somnolent Slovak outfit.

Never been a big fan of Spellbound even in the original film, so I'd much rather back a new recording of A Double Life...

Agreed. Between the Intrada recording and a few recordings of the Concerto (which is what I’m usually more inclined to go for when I want to hear the music), I’m perfectly set on Spellbound and would rather have Double Life or the proposed Jungle Book.

Shame on me for already forgetting The Jungle Book, when Intrada has actually expressed interest in doing it already!

I'll add to my Rozsa wish list: Knight Without Armour, The Four Feathers, That Hamilton Woman, The Red Danube, oh and of course some of his otherwise-lost film noir scores!

Without meaning any criticism of Intrada's choices so far, I'd love to have an improved recording of THE MAGNIFICENT AMBERSONS. It's impossible to hear all the music written due to the editorial changes and it's a stunning Herrmann effort. The Tony Bremner version is a bit lacking sonically.

Absolutely agree. A fresh digital recording and this time with correct performances would be essential. I found the Bremner version to be too reverby.

I was just thinking about how many times they have recorded the famous spectacular ' Death Hunt ' Cue on album apart from Herrmann's own performances from the OST album on FSM label.

All these following versions listed below have something exciting to offer:

1) The Death Hunt (02:23) from CITIZEN KANE: The Classic Film Scores of Bernard Herrmann (Charles Gerhardt)
2) Suite (14:17) from BERNARD HERRMANN: The Essential Film Music Collection (Paul Bateman)
3) Death Hunt (02:12) THE NAKED AND THE DEAD * (William Stromberg)

P.S. There is also a terrific performance of it by Essa Pekka Salonen only availble online on youtube. John Williams also has conducted this piece in concert.

* The Stromberg recording also has another cue from ODG which Herrmann had adapted to be reused in the cue titled 'The Bridge' whereas on the original OST score it is labeled as 'The Hunt's End'

PRINCE VALIANT ,SINBAD THE SAILOR,VERA CRUZ or BAMBI.
I'd pledge..
As much as I'd like some groovy seventies scores like Schifrins etc...to be rerecorded...I think no one is able to actually perform them with the same jive..mojo and rythm like they did back in the days...so....

Why has this thread suddenly started into yet another a wish list that has nothing to do with the current project that has been proposed?

Boredom: the state of being bored; the feeling of being wearied by dullness, tedious repetition, etc.

The higher the number of projects that are successfully supported the higher the likelihood that labels will try to get other titles - maybe even titles on wishlists - funded.

So, get pledging if you haven't done so already.

You nailed it perfectly ! Boredom caused by a pandemic and geographical entities in upheaval. A world heading into the darkness of the unknown.

Inevitable, but anything that shows passion for projects like this one – and keeps this thread bumping up – is okay in my book.

I just upped my pledge. It won’t make the difference, but I’m hoping it will make a difference.

Even esteemed record producers can be disappointed by the harsh realities of archival recordings...

Good stuff, Joe! (Your idea?) I hope Roger sticks that on as a Kickstarter update soon.

420 backers now with 6 days to go and just over $5,000 left to raise for On Dangerous Ground.

I don't see anyone from Intrada making much direct contribution to the thread. Maybe if they did, their input would inspire comments more to your liking.
As it is, I'm sure they don't mind at all if people handing them tens of thousands of dollars chat amongst themselves about a slew of possible future opportunities to raise even more cash for them.
