James -- a hint for whoever does your web design. Having audio/video playing automatically is a sure way to get some people to leave the site immediately.
Oh, I don't know. It looks a lot more professional than some other websites I could name.
But they seem to have the same flaw. Please put your catalogues in alphabetical order!
For such a tiny catalogue I hardly think alphabetical is necessary ....I only have 10 releases ... so numerical is simplest so the latest is at the top and the oldest at the bottom. I think this makes sense?
Mr. Fitz, I actually got goosebumps all over, watching the video. Of course, the Ride to Dubno cue is one of my favorites, ever, and seeing it performed live is spectacular. Must be exhilarating and fun to perform, I would think.
By the way, could anyone tell me if the visuals to this sequence live up to the wonderful music? I've heard that Taras Bulba isn't a great movie, and I can't even imagine something that would do justice to Waxman's superb score.

I remember when I was 12 sitting in the Elgin Theatre in Ottawa, Ontario when this scene came on - I was electrified. Over the years this particular scene hasn't lost it's punch for me - even if much of the film has. I was so crazy about 'The Ride to Dubno' that one Saturday morning, like an inspired idiot, I got a bunch of the neighbourhood kids together and we 're-enacted' it. I had kids 'stationed' at various points along a city block and we began 'riding' (a la the coconut riders in 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail') and as we got certain points the other kids would join us. (I think I shared this here before).
Video ain't bad considering shot on 2 tiny flip cameras and 1 old jvc camera of mine .... I got fed up with hiring a professional crew with great gear to take all the wrong shots. If you want something doing do it yourself!
Hey James - If you want it done right... give me a call! Sure I'm billions of miles away but I have some experience in this department!
Anyway, great cue, it sounds great, and the performance was top notch!
Love it. The performances are first rate. For me though, I still prefer Gerhardts' recording of 'The Ride to Dubno". Otherwise, I am grateful and happy to have this most treasured of all Waxman scores complete! Thank you, James. Well done!
Turekrambo, it's never too soon to look into the future. I do believe that 2012 is spoken for, in terms of Tadlow's plans. What would I like to see in 2013? Any of the following:
OBSESSION HELEN OF TROY KING RICHARD AND THE CRUSADERS SODOM AND GOMORRAH
Received TARAS BULBA today! I've listened to the first two tracks on CD 1, and the Six Hands Piano track on disc two. Phenomenal recording and performance! The Six Hands Piano was so good that I almost forgot that it WASN'T being played by a full orchestra!
I'm expecting THE EGYPTIAN in a day or two, and I'm going to hold the rest of TARAS until I've listened to THE EGYPTIAN, for chronological reasons if nothing else.
I received Taras Bulba and The Egyptian a couple of days ago. There aren't enough hours in the day to enjoy all of these wonders. I also was astounded by the piano version the Ride to Dubno track. I'd loved to have seen their fingers flying over the keys as they played. I was wondering, has anyone had a problem with the last track on Disc 2 of Taras. Mine skipped on my car player and completed locked on my home deck. I e-mailed SAE about the problem.
