I never liked Bernstein's unused score for LAST MAN STANDING (Varese) and it sat unplayed for years... until recently I gave it another audition and pruned noisy tracks 3, 4, 8 & 9 and that left me with a very nicely-flowing twenty minutes of dramatic Elmer that I really enjoy and have been playing a lot.
LAST MAN STANDING (Bernstein Unused Score)
Track 1: To Jericho Track 2: First Guns Track 5: Change Track 6: Felina's Story Track 7: Free Track 10: Saving Joe Track 11: One of the Last
Thor s whittle of GOONIES seems to have disappeared. Maybe he can repost it. Anyway. I like it alot until it gets to the last part of the score and film.
Up into #18 this replicates Thor: THE GOONIES program by Bruce R. Marshall
1 2 3 6 10 13 14 18
The above mirrors mine completely, but then it diverges and ends with 19-20 and 23-30. Around 47 minutes.

Here is my whittled down version of Intrada's fantastic 3-CD set for John Barry's HOWARD THE DUCK. As with my previous posting for Barry's HANOVER STREET, taking that deluxe edition down to a theoretical, non-chronological 45-minute LP version, I have done the same with HOWARD THE DUCK. Of course I included the tracks that were on side 2 of that original album from 1986, but it was great to play producer and see what else could have been included if it had been a Barry-only album.
In addition, I made combined some shorter cues to make for longer tracks on my album, as I think longer cues always play better musically than those under a minute. For example, the cues "Dark Overlord Introduction" and "Filthy Scum Bucket" explore the same thematic material and work really crossfaded together, especially as the latter cue present a bigger version of the theme. The two versions of "Shoot To Kill" are so great I had to include them both!

Notes: I cut about some stuff in the first third of the score that were rather Mickey Mousey sounding.
I kept a fair amount of Goldsmith's original cues and sequence, but chucked out the uber-dull "Free Minds" (and added some cues he excluded).
1) The Mountain (original album version) 2) The Barrier 3) Raid on Paradise 4) Without Help (original album version) 5) No Harm 6) A Tall Ship (it was criminal of Goldsmith to exclude from his original sequence) 7) Open The Gates (film mix) 8) Not Alone 9) A Busy Man (original album version) 10) An Angry God 11) Lets Get Out of Here* 12) Cosmic Thoughts 13) Life Is A Dream (film version)
*This is actually an edit I made where I took the original album version, and edited it to the extended finale heard on the expanded release.
Minority Report needed some (okay, a lot of) trimming...

Saving The Eye is just Death Becomes Her (which does have that Superman villain feel).

You could've whittled down disc two a bit more, no?
