ROOSTER COGBURN by Laurence Rosenthal was also released by Varese Sarabande (from that list above).
To p!ss poor sales also, as it was going for a song a few months later.

No wonder, if people list their so called "holy grails" and don't even bother to show up when they are released. The term has here succumb to such an inflationary use, it means no more than "might be a title I might have a passing interest in if someone send samples to me. For free".

I listed just a couple before I think Kamen’s Three Musketeers and Highlander, but both of Jorner’s Zorro scores, AlfredNewman’s Mark of Zorro and I’ll add Richard Batsman’s score for the 1948 3 Godfathers. It’s a good Christmas movie, and watching it today the music is terrific.

You're right about Joe Kidd. My bad. My memory's not what it was. As for the Barry scores, that's news to me, very good news I might add. Thanks for the info.

Sorry about Rooster. I actually have it. Maybe it shows what 50 years of soundtrack collecting can do to the brain!
Especially all the wishing over the years.

HIGHLANDER.. but I must admit my hope is diminishing. So sad this Kamen masterpiece is not out yet.

I feel like I have most of what I always wanted.

There are a few things I still hope for.

I still hope that some day the complete original recordings of such scores as RAISE THE TITANIC, THE LAST VALLEY, SEANCE ON A WET AFTERNOON, DEADFALL, ALICE'S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND show up.

Although we at least have either albums or re-recordings of those for now.

It'd be nice if one day the original master recordings of MIDNIGHT COWBOY and MARY QUEEN OF SCOTS show up, so we can get those it top notch, stereo quality.

But, we do at least have the mono versions of those.

Of course, there are the remaining unexpected John Barry 007 scores.

Basically, and perhaps predictably, given this is the board's John Barry nut speaking, whatever remains unreleased or unexpanded from John Barry's catalogue.

Perhaps my number one want, though, after the 007 scores, is the complete DEADFALL.

And of course SINFUL DAVY, although I think that one is truly beyond all hope.

Cheers

And, to go beyond Barry for a moment, the complete FOR A FEW DOLLARS MORE.

Please, please, please may that come out.

Cheers

I can only imagine the steps some of these things go through to get released. I'd love to geek out on some of these massive releases and get an accounting of all the crap required for a big one. Might give folks here some more appreciation for all the work and effort that goes into these releases.

From the business side you're balancing successful money makers with so many that tank. I am just thankful that our favourite labels are still kicking and working to do these proper releases.

Two elephants in the room for me in terms of releases on VINYL are:

BLADE RUNNER Complete score.
What a glaring omission for this masterpiece.
Imagine having all these wonderful moody pieces remastered in a deluxe package.

DIRTY HARRY
Only a couple of tracks from the score have made it to vinyl.
Crazy really.
