Turekrambo, it's never too soon to look into the future. I do believe that 2012 is spoken for, in terms of Tadlow's plans. What would I like to see in 2013? Any of the following:

OBSESSION
HELEN OF TROY
KING RICHARD AND THE CRUSADERS
SODOM AND GOMORRAH

I think Helen might have the best chance because the weakly-played suite from Silva was not liked by Mr. Fitzpatrick (or most people for that matter), so there's some unfinished business there.

I listened to Taras Bulba tonight...love it. That 6-hand piano arrangement is really cool.

I've been listening to Taras Bulba for a day and all I have to say that Tadlow is the new gold standard.

Thanks James.

I was wondering, has anyone had a problem with the last track on
Disc 2 of Taras. Mine skipped on my car player and completed locked
on my home deck. I e-mailed SAE about the problem.

Yes, my CD player won't play it either.

Had a similar but less impactful problem with Lawrence Of Arabia too: disc 2 played okay on my CD player but my laptop couldn't track it well enough to import it to i-Tunes.

I am loving the music though. I was going to wait to see if I could perservere with the last last track before raising it with Tadlow.

Cheers

Update:

My Blu-Ray player can play it just fine.

My DVD player and CD player had difficulties tracking it. The CD player went into a tizzy fit trying and gave up. The DVD player persevered and played the track all the way through but there were digital pops and crackling.

But BIZARRELY my laptop can play it. Normally, the laptop is the FIRST one to fail to track a CD. So if this means I can get it into i-Tunes lossless, then I'll be able to make a CD-R for those other devices.

Maybe we just need better, more resilient CD players!

Cheers

Thankfully, mine plays just fine on my 30 year old Panasonic portable cd player!!!

What I'll do if it ever breaks, heaven knows.

What a recording, this really is the best yet, it really is PERFECT, the sound the playing and the presentation are all top notch.

Thankyou James, for another wonderful recording.

I'd have odd working CDs over the years. Recently I got a disc, as part of a 5 CD set, where my PROGRAM didn't like it (I use an old freeware program called CDMax, and not even the 'most recent' version). Other programs like Foobar and Winamp work fine, and it ripped with EAC perfectly fine.

Others I've had that don't work in my DVD Burner drive but fine in my Blu-Ray player drive (both came with the computer).

I have played the last track on disc two (the Ride of the Cossacks concert suite) on both of my el cheapo Sony CD players (one is a boom box), and it played properly on both. I also played the track in my 2001 car's CD player, and it was fine there too.

Now, none of the above would be considered "deluxe home entertainment systems," but the disc played properly for me on all three sound systems, humble though they may be.

I'm sorry to hear that a couple of people have had problems with it, and hope that it's an isolated case.

I've wanted this score for over forty years. And now I have it. An utterly superb realization, faithful to the original in orchestration and performance. Great job, Tadlow!

James, I'm very glad that you ended up including all of the songs. They were part of Waxman and David's work on the film, and they are very prominent in the movie. I like that they're placed after the score, but I think now after hearing them that this release would have been missing something had they not been included.

I had no problems playing the discs.

No problems with the discs here, and my drive tends to be a bit finniky at time.

Just listening to the re-recording for the 2nd time and lacking for words to describe how much I do enjoy this. Unbelievable, superb, great. I LOVE IT! Thanks to ALL the people who were involved in creating this beauty. Representatively thanks to Mr Fitzpatrick!

Franz Waxman has been in the limelight lately with his scores from Paramount. Which leads me to his brilliant score for "Taras Bulba", the Tadlow re-recording is sublime and is highly recommended to anyone interested in thematic symphonic music. I just think this CD is mandatory for anyone who loves great music!

I think all of the Tadlow and Tribute re-recordings are must owns. Bulba is mighty impressive.

Hey James! Do you have a 600x600 version of the album cover? Or anyone? Thanks!

Although I'm crazy about the new "Sodom and Gomorrah", I always carry my "Taras Bulba" along because I just can't seem to get enough of it. Be careful while driving, however.
