Dear MV,

Idk if this has been asked before, but with FOX now part of Disney, will you really not be able to release anything by them anymore or is that stuff still being figured out after the merger?

I think it would be such a shame if rights were only reserved for Intrada and certain classic releases would never see the light of day...still in love with your Buffy box set and hoping for more someday. Ahaha. And I am sure there are other classic Fox titles too that only you guys would even consider putting on CD.

In January he said:

MORE SHUKI LEVY STUFF - NOT AT THIS TIME. Rights issues and missing contracts.

And I recall him saying a month or two ago that WB was getting too expensive (so no "Animanicas" or "Tiny Toons").

-------

I take it missing contracts might refer to She-Ra since they were able to release He-Man stuff.
Still, that doesn't give an answer regarding Bravestarr (Shuki didn't compose that).

And just to throw my own wrench into the discussion:

Has anyone ever expressed interest in Arthur Kempel's "Windrunner" score? I think it's fantastic, but....

I wonder if La La Land would consider releasing a limited print of David Rose's score(s) for Little House on the Prairie. Some great Americana waiting to be tapped there!

Didnt MV say something about Warner titles may slow down due to the rise in licence fees?

Oh gosh, this gets better and better.

Sony Music cans 3rd party licencing.
Fox gets bought by Disney, who only work with Intrada.
UMG OST masters are confirmed lost in a fire years ago, requiring lesser sources to be used.
Now Warner has a price hike?

So glad we got what we got when we did.

Mike Matessino has already stated that the only score related materials in that vault were album masters, and that everything else in that department wasn't there.

"UMG OST masters" is a fair term, though, but again not all of them were there.

According to NYT...it seems that Universal was not completely honest about how many Artist were effected by the fire,...it seems over 700 Artist were effected. And many lawsuits are being filed.

I'm wondering, when will Ladyhawke be back in stock? Or is this also affected by Warner...

I second that, MV. Its been out of stock for many years now.

Is it still feasible to press a small run before the licence runs out?

Dear MV,
Since LLL has now released all the POTA movie and Live TV series scores (I could not thank you enough for this!!!), Is there hope for a release of the short lived animated TV show score by Dean Elliott?

can you post Dan Goldwasser's jewel case cover art for each film?

Thank you!

I am going to apologize for those of us who greeted what seems to be a dream project (Apes) with disappointment because we went off on a wild hair about From the Earth to the Moon.

Don't drink TOO much.

Dear MV,

So excited about the new collaboration with Varése Sarabande. The perspectives are huge!

Please MV, please elaborate more about how this came to fruition and if there are future plans?

Thank you!

MV Gerhard reported some time back that the recordings for the animated series are unfortunately lost.

Perhaps they can be salvaged in the future from the stems like Star Trek animated! smile

Dear LLL/MV

Have you ever considered a Baywatch release (the show)?
It has some really good score moments. Specially season 1 (Pilot, Shark Derby i.e.)

Dear MV,

Any news about TOP GUN 1 complete ?

I would assume the reason Mission Impossible is coming in August finally is that Cruise has some time since filming is done now of Top Gun 2 to approve it. Perhaps he may be able to approve that one too..... it would be good timing for the upcoming film.

MV said about "Top Gun" back in April, on whether we'll get it this year, and replied:

"no...maybe never"

Something more than a sign-off must be happening to move it to "maybe never".

Just wanted to ask the status of a favorite score.

Do we have any news or idea on when Stargate will be released from the Gua'uld running the studios?

Only news in the context of horrifying shipment stories, once again, La La Land have very well packaged a shipment, leading to the CDs and bax being, of course, in perfect condition. For anyone who's ever wondered whether they're in the Trustworthy column:
