I did the exact same thing, Yavar... would love an expanded Sabrina (Williams) someday. Haha....at least I had a cover for The Adventures of Batman and Robin as consolation! (Been waitin' well over three years for that baby!) Yavar

Yep, you're right. Our day is going to come. But MV should still come on this board and explain how they managed to mess up a perfect anniversary tie-in. 50th anniversary of the launch of Apollo 11... the moon landing - wait, that isn't until July 20th... Hmm. Maybe MV is being uber-cunning and going to surprise us on Saturday.... Remember TRL was delayed and replaced with DRACULA ( check out the original clue)

I agree with MV: FETM isn't that great in the scheme of things.

MV didn't say it wasn't great scoring, he said it just wasn't worthy of a "500th release". You've mashed together two different things in one inaccurate statement.

We never said we are doing From the Earth to the Moon. Would like to some day. All you guys build yourself up in a fervor over nothing. That's why we didn't say anything about this in advance. I simply said it's a big release for us and it's our 500th title. It's the first time Varese has partnered up with a label like us AND it's the ultimate simian franchise...and if you know me I got mad monkey love! I think it's specifically because you were so tight-lipped with clues that people settled on From the Earth to the Moon. If you'd said something like "this very popular franchise" as a clue, no one would have figured on it because it's a miniseries rather than a franchise...but simply knowing it was BIG left people room to more widely speculate, and that particular release date was just too much of a coincidence for many folks (and the remastered Blu-rays were just released, to boot). Besides, PotA would have been hard for folks to guess because, as you've pointed out, Varese has *never* licensed one of their perpetuity titles to another label before. This is unprecedented. There weren't all that many "big" things this could've been besides PotA, and you *had* done little hints along the lines of "anything's possible " in regards to From the Earth to the Moon before. Since you've previously hinted similarly at other things like Newman's Diary of Anne Frank and Goldsmith's The Swarm, which we know are coming out...well, little comments like that can give people a lot of hope. To be honest with you, we picked this date not because of Apollo 11. It never even occurred to us. We picked it because we usually have something cool around Comic Con week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The July 16th date was purely coincidental and quite humorous if you ask me. That is really pretty funny, I agree! Will The Adventures of Batman & Robin also be out in time for Comic Con? As for doing more stuff with Varese we shall see. The whole Disney deal may make that very difficult with the Fox titles. Perhaps Varese could also partner with Intrada on those then, if you aren't able to squeeze any more past the gatekeepers...but there are tons of Varese titles controlled in perpetuity that aren't Fox/Disney. PS FTETTM was a wonderful mini series, but jeez guys -- it ain't worthy of a 500th release! Agree to disagree. But for *your* label specifically, there's clearly could be no more appropriate box set for the 500th than Apes! Major congratulations on this monumental achievement, MV and team. Yavar

Ugh, these guessing games are so frustrating. I just wish FTETTM was shot down so I wouldn't have gotten my hopes up. No ape love here.

To be fair the guessing games were entirely our (posters') responsibility. MV gave no actual cues except for saying it was a big title for their 500th. Yavar

I hope the 600th release is timed for the 50th anniversary of the NY Mets winning the 1969 World Series.
