Oh MAN — with the scores being longer/more substantial, and with there being two more episodes this season (since one was moved in from last season), we *really* need the season 2 score release to be three discs. Pretty please, MV! It worked for Human Target and Space: Above and Beyond! Yavar

Oooh...not a bad idea there. And LLL established precedent for doing that kind of thing with their Star Trek TV releases, way back with TNG Vol. 1, having a third disc with "spotlight" scores getting the more complete treatment. Personally though, I thought Alara's farewell episode "Home" had an even stronger and more memorable orchestral score than either part of Identity... Yavar

"Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow" By: John Debney Official FOX.com link: https://www.fox.com/watch/8a5abf07182564b4233f9dc41820e6a1/ No link found at this time (cropped, flipped and reduced-quality load for those who are region restricted) Highlights: 0:00 in. 3:39 in. 6:54 in. 25:39 in. 28:50 in. 36:40 in. 42:03 in. 43:21 in. The opening credits have been abridged to like fifteen seconds. Another strong re-watchable episode. And what a brave status-quo shake up that ending. Okay, so about the Kaylon... Ed ordered all power shut down so the Kaylon can't detect the Orville, however ... Isaac didn't shut down. Can't the Kaylon scam for their own power signature? Ice isn't an scan-impervious substance. AND if they're so smart, they know the Orville is just hiding, so why not just wait the ship out? For that matter, why cant' they just look outside a window and see the Orville? For such a "race" of superior-intellect beings, they do so many stupid things every time we see them. Unfortunately, next week is what probably will be the series finale since renewal signs are not good. The score, as we already now, is by Joel McNeely.

I don't think we can make any predictions as to the show's renewal status. At the Orvile music event on Wednesday this week, someone in the audience jokingly asked when an Orville movie might be done and Seth replied "Let me just get through season 3 first". I think he's pretty confident that the show will be renewed.

Shows wit the low ratings they have been getting, typically get canned. But FOX has already been giving renewals, but this show hasn't gotten one and it's one episode away from ending. But I still wait patiently. Never know. It would be really ultra cool if at the end of the episode before the end credits stop, we see Seth sitting on set and he says, "See you next season" with a wink and a nod and a big ol' smile.

I think he's pretty confident that the show will be renewed. Yeah sucks they shortened the opening theme. Wonder if thats so they can fit in more commercials or they want to hook the audience in a lot faster so they don’t change the channel? Yes, Isaac should have shut down. I have no problem with the rest. Why would the Kaylon, an advanced bio-mechanical race “look out their windows”. They have every reason to trust their sensor technology. Since its not an imaging scanner the Orville remained hidden. Biggest problem I had with the episode was younger Kelly devising the plan for hiding from the Kaylon, yet afterwards young Kelly said she recognized older Kelly’s importance on the Orville though she was not the one who came up with the plan. I hear there's licensing going on for The Orville which would suggest it will be renewed or perhaps its already been picked up by another network.

"The Road Not Taken" (series finale) By: Joel McNeely Official FOX.com link: https://www.fox.com/watch/188919ab9c20185aa70976f1c0f114f5/ No link found at this time. (flipped, cropped and reduced quality load for those region restricted) Highlights: 0:00 in. * 3:27 in. 6:26 in. 13:00 in. 17:20 in. 27:13 in. 33:35 in. I hear "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan", you sneaky composer. 40:44 in. + Another good episode with re-watch value. Too bad, even the day after it aired, there is no announcement of a third season, so this appears to be the end of the show. * = "Look out!". Yeah, no shit; only said that after the chase and a minute of firing. Next he'll tell him, "Don't forget to breath!". That's a really handy Kaylon feature. I remember when they used it in the two-parter. Oh, wait -- no they didn't. + = Just like ST: TNG -- an emergency? Minutes to spare? Yeah, just casually walk to where you need to go that's not nearby. Ed: "Talla, will you open this jar of pickles?"

Season two gag reel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVSYfg7We3Q FOX, according to what I saw, should announce it's schedule in the next two weeks, so I guess we'll find out sometime from now until then what the official fate of the show is.

Well, writer and producer on the show David Goodman has said there has been no official renewal yet in a new interview: https://trekmovie.com/2019/05/03/interview-david-a-goodman-on-how-the-orville-wrapped-up-season-two-and-where-it-could-go-next/ Can you say anything about if there is going to be a third season? We have not got an official pick-up yet, but we are beginning talks. I’m optimistic, but I don’t have the final, official word yet. I think the show has been doing well for them. The studio loves the show. It sells well in foreign sales. So, I am optimistic, but as I often say in this business it is nothing until it is something. Remember, "Gunsmoke" writers were already writing scripts for a 21st season of the show, that didn't happen.

Tom Costantino, an associate producer and editor on the show, is talking on Twitter and reading between the lines, he seems to be indicating things are still being negotiated (I assume cast contracts mainly). They're really cutting it close. As it is it takes so long to make episodes and they have to be written.
