Oh! Fantastic news. Then we have another shot at getting David Arnold back. After the great scoring of the N. Peal commercial, instigated by Barbara Broccoli I really hope for his return.

AFAIK, this isn't further than the 'rumour' stage yet. Let's wait for more official statements, shall we? Personally, I'd love to hear a Romer score for Bond, athough I wouldn't be bummed if Arnold stepped in either.

So, be it a rumor or not, how far has he gotten in the score process? Anything recorded yet?

If Romer is to depart the movie, I hope it's Thomas Newman again. And I hope he has another best-selling soundtrack album, that he wins another BAFA and that he gets another Oscar nomination out of it. If only for the entertainment value of seeing everyone on this board complaining for years after that the music was somehow "bad."

Do you know John Scott? I do. The man is not going to score a Bond film at the last minute.

He just turned 89 years old today and isn't working on feature films anymore.

It's a joke against me. On more than one occasion I've said if I were doing a bond film (or a Star Wars film) I'd hire him.

If true, this would be a great opportunity to get Thomas Newman back on board and complete a hat trick of Bond scores.

David Arnold's recent advert scoring was excellent but he falls well short with his Bond action music which is generic sub Hollywood average summer blockbuster scoring. Crash bang wallop with dashes of James Bond Theme is just lazy and tedious.

Bring Back Newman or go for Alexandre Desplat or Justin Hurwitz.

Hopefully It's one of them: David Arnold, Thomas Newman, Craig Armstrong or Harry Gregson-Williams

The John Scott shout out is half joke* half 'I Wish'.
And 89 is no excuse, just look at Ennio and John Dubya.

*it's not at you Justin. I think Ruthers has screamed at both of us if we've mentioned his name smile

Another vote for Arnold. And let him be involved in the theme song please!

I also hope David Arnold gets to score this. I'm sure he would wrap up the Craig era in a stylish and memorable way.
