Oh! Fantastic news. Then we have another shot at getting David Arnold back. After the great scoring of the N. Peal commercial, instigated by Barbara Broccoli I really hope for his return.
AFAIK, this isn't further than the 'rumour' stage yet. Let's wait for more official statements, shall we? Personally, I'd love to hear a Romer score for Bond, athough I wouldn't be bummed if Arnold stepped in either.
If Romer is to depart the movie, I hope it's Thomas Newman again. And I hope he has another best-selling soundtrack album, that he wins another BAFA and that he gets another Oscar nomination out of it. If only for the entertainment value of seeing everyone on this board complaining for years after that the music was somehow "bad."
If true, this would be a great opportunity to get Thomas Newman back on board and complete a hat trick of Bond scores.
David Arnold's recent advert scoring was excellent but he falls well short with his Bond action music which is generic sub Hollywood average summer blockbuster scoring. Crash bang wallop with dashes of James Bond Theme is just lazy and tedious.
Bring Back Newman or go for Alexandre Desplat or Justin Hurwitz.
