My note was a heads-up intended to indicate that things are not as they seem when looking at the track list. I would have preferred to have the booklet explain it, but here's the deal: "Arthur's Farewell" is 15M2/16M1 and the album kept this title. The cue written as "Never Surrender" is 16M2 and is called "Camelot Lives" on the album. The cue actually called "Camelot Lives" is 16M3 and was called "Promise Me" on the album. That should clarify the dilemma we were faced with and why it ended up the way it did. The score is in the correct order.
Mike

Ah! That does explain it - brilliant - thanks again Mike!

...And "Promise Me" is 4M1 and was called "Camelot" on the album, and on it goes... welcome to our nightmare.

I respect Goldsmith's right to produce the original album in whatever way he saw fit. but he clearly took leave of his senses with the assignment of track titles in this instance.

Blimey, was there ANY decent alternate art done for this movie?

The only thing I've seen has been the usual headshots. The following set, which were used for the unmentionable, are to my mind the best of the lot.

ps is Buscemi measuring the size of your member?

Très fin monsieur Marshall, très fin...

If you're thinking about THAT when you see this picture, then, we all finally understand here more about you.

You have all my compassion.

Indeed. And it seems he - or at least somebody back in 1995 - messed up the actual cue sheets too because "Arthur's Farewell" and "Never Surrender" were clearly labelled the wrong way round.

Maybe he was busy thinking about Congo (which also had a bonkers track listing)

Producing albums was not Mr. Goldsmith's stronger suit. This is why I'm so jazzed about these expansions.

Goldsmith's original FIRST KNIGHT album taken on its own terms is terrific, despite superficial cue title differences and the more controversial case of the missing Lancelot music. I assume LA-LA Land also felt this way as they saw fit to preserve it on the second CD. I'll probably always have a soft spot for the album version if nothing more than nostalgia (as I do for THE EDGE), but I'm thrilled about being able to listen to and more fully appreciate this score in its entirety. It's one of my favorite scores from my favorite period of Goldsmith music.

Can anybody identify a cue for me? I've spend several minutes on Youtube with various cues from "First Knight" and I can't seem to find it.

I'm looking for a cue that has a very similar part that sounds like 3:34 to 4:08 from this cue:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o6430q5_PZY

It's a little faster, has a more pronounced drumroll enter and has the flutes and bells like this one has.

Wasn't there a defect on one track from FIRST KNIGHT, I looked through this thread but couldn't find it? I'm thinking of buying a copy and want to know if I have a corrected copy.

If there was a defect my guess is that they probably fixed it 10 years later

Yes but they haven't been making them for the past 10 years, it's been out of print for years.

I thought it was restocked in the last couple of years. Although, it is currently TEMPORARILY OUT OF STOCK.

I got it when it came out (hard to believe that's already 10 years ago) so wasn't aware it's been out of stock for years. Never noticed any glitches or defects on my copy though

I remember this announcement as if it was just yesterday...and a whole decade has passed (well two months shy of it)

Puts things in perspective.

I don't know if there was a defect or its just a matter of opinion but some of the tracks sounded "muffled" to me.
