On Zimmer's facebook they say WW84 - Sketches from the Soundtrack is coming very soon with the following tracks:

In Harm's Way (5:16)
Dechalafrea Ero (11:11)
No Hero Is Born From Lies (4:39)
In Love (10:48)
Apex Predator (5:09)
The Monkey Paw (6:50)
Citrine (3:05)
Barbara Minerva (1:33)
'84 (2:29)
The Amazon (9:45)

No word yet if it will be on CD too or only digital.

What is "sketches from the soundtrack", alt or demo tracks, or are these unreleased music from the film?

Was looking forward to more music from the film. They gotta know fans want unreleased cues. What a waste.

This album contains only concept suites, not score from the movie. Same as bonus discs on Interstellar or Dark Knight releases.

As a matter of fact in this case I'm more happy with concepts, suites and sketches for a second release than unreleased music because the first 90 minute release covered all the significant music used in the film. At least while watching WW84 I couldn't really spot anything special not on the double disc release. (Except "Beautiful Lies" and the music from Sunshine)

If it's like Xperiments from Dark Phoenix, I'll be happy. The only setback is the missing CD release, of course...

Is there much music that is missing? The only major music moment I can think of that wasn't included on the album was music that seemed to have been tracked from Batman vs. Superman. I don't pretend to be an expert on the score, but when watching the film a second time there wasn't a lot that stuck out as missing from the album other than the BvS music.

Based on the samples there's not much new music, mostly variations on the already released material with more synths this time.

However the album cover is much better than that of the original release! smile

What about the epilogue scene music, set on the snowy street in Washington?
That was the music I remembered most from the film that isn't on the CD.
Also, someone said the Games music was truncated.
Are they still missing?

It's not from the score, it's from Pompeii...

Wow...really...that lovely little bubbly choir piece is from Pompeii...thanks.
Do you know what track it is, Hybrid?

edit...think I've found it on Spotify...I Won't Leave You...I guess it was a case of temp track love?

Listening to the sketches.

I am not going to lie, "84" was how I imagined "1984" would sound like. I really like it, but I am glad Zimmer went with the orchestral version though.

Because it contains all the pop/rock songs and other music used in the film (like the track from Sunshine and the one from Pompeii).

Since we're talking about CD-Rs in here...

What is the difference of a regular CD and CD-R?
Having been on this forum for a while I have come to learn that CD-R is a very very bad thing. But what is the difference? Like really? Is the audio quality less good on a CD-R?

I'm not defending CD-R or anything but I'm just wondering, lol!

Here is a good compendium on the subject:

https://www.edocpublish.com/are-cd-rs-identical-to-normal-cds/

I'll add that CD-Rs are much cheaper in terms of quality (especially their booklets) and tend to endure less, while factory CDs are professionally made.

I can burn a CD-R at home, but I can't manufacture a CD as the professional plant do. Therefore the former aren't collectable, while the factory pressed are.

The problem is in the collectable "value" of the physical item. It's like choosing between a real painting or a photocopy of one.

In terms of audio quality, you can't tell the difference.
