I appreciate it is difficult to determine the release dates especially with sign off's etc but did LLL decide whether they were to continue issuing their monthly flyers on the 1st of each month?

You'll just have to wait and find out next Wednesday. wink

In all seriousness if we know 100% something is coming out by the first of every month for that month we will let you know.

So far, Feb is locked and March is looking solid. April has a chance to be pretty awesome with May and June to be pretty sweet. July is solid and August is good, but starting in September and through our Black Friday slate I would start saving your pennies because 4th quarter is gonna be amazing if we can pull it all off. I didn't think it was possible to beat 2016s Black Friday batch but 2017 has the chance to be the "be all end all mic drop we retire from here" kind of slate of releases. Lol

Dear La La Land Powers That Be,

It's great to hear that you will be releasing a lot of new product, but PLEASE! Where is LETHAL WEAPON?? It's been more than a year since this went out of stock. Is it going to be another year before we see copies again? Just give me a "sense" as to when you think it will be available. You're killing me!!

Frustrated Peter

P.S. Otherwise, you're doing great.

May

When our manufacturer closed shop right at X-mas in 2014 we lost all of our print. Being that its a box set, to make another 1000 boxes/booklets/inlays it costs us around 15k to make, not to mention "buying finished goods" from WMG (and being that we are talking 8 cds it gets pretty pricey). We have been busy making new cds since then (and some GD vinyls), some were hits, some broke even and some tanked (more than usual). Suffice it to say, we are crawling out of the muck this year and will have some extra coin to make those last 1000 sets just in time for the film's 30th anniversary.

Our apologies for the delay, but these things happen.

Considering 2016's Black Friday was Jurassic Park/The Lost World complete, I can only imagine the awesomeness in store for 2017's! JP was quite the mic drop after all! Whatever it is, I can't wait!

You're not going anywhere until you've released all the DCAU music, you hear me? wink

So glad to hear that you've got an exciting line-up for this year!

MV posted some interesting stuff about direct sales from their website (ie not wholesale) in a thread last September. Here are some quotes:

"Interesting stats on our website sale numbers.

Ferris already cracked the top 20 of all time in its first 3 days of release

1. STAR TREK THE MOTION PICTURE
2. STAR TREK THE ORIGINAL SERIES
3. HOOK
4. INDEPENDENCE DAY
5. BATMAN (1989)
6. BATTLESTAR GALACTICA: BLOOD AND CHROME
7. THE X-FILES VOLUME ONE
8. BATMAN THE ANIMATED SERIES VOLUME 2
9. A.I.
10. STAR TREK V
11. THE X FILES VOLUME 2
12. BATMAN THE ANIMATED SERIES
13. HE MAN AND THE MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE
14. STAR TREK DEEP SPACE 9
15. BATMAN MASK OF THE PHANTASM
16. BATMAN RETURNS
17. FERRIS BUELLER’S DAY OFF
18. CLUE
19. SUPERMAN RETURNS
20. MARS ATTACKS"

Great to see Shuki Levy's score for He-Man and the Masters Of The Universe at number 13. That's my favourite LLL release and gets the most spins. 130 minutes of music! Shuki Levy synths, at his best. Magical stuff. This is still available on their site, so I assume they had a massive surge, sold the majority of the stock, and then it stalled. It's been out for two years. I implore the 80s synth fans to buy this if they haven't already. An essential 80s CD IMHO. Don't forget, you're not just paying for this, you're also encouraging LLL to pursue similar projects in the future.

Apparently Jonny Quest has also sold well.

More quotes from that page...on Clue's resurgence in sales after initially disappointing:

"Word finally spread like wild fire amongst Clue fan clubs about 2 years ago. It lead to it selling out earlier this year.

Also, there was a resurgence for Clue when a new tv game show came on as well as an off broadway show that came out. That helped sales. "

On total sales:

the sales only reflect what we sold directly via our website and does not include wholesale or distributor figures. If we included those, Battlestar Galactica seasons 1 2 3 and 4 plus the Mini Series would be at the top of our all time sales along with, wait for it, MIRRORMASK. Yeah, we sold a ton of those through our distributor during our license. Odd, huh?

On Dances With Wolves and Braveheart:

"Titles like Braveheart and Dances sold incredibly well across the board. I think we have 500 Braveheart left. Dances has sold over half the run of 5000 units so far. Its just that they sold well on our website as well as Screen Archives, Intrada, etc..."

Here's the thread link http://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?forumID=1&pageID=3&threadID=115631&archive=0

MV has also stated many times that comedy titles don't do well at all (Clue aside). Some titles I remember him saying that had disappointing sales: Mortdecai, Giant, Invasion of the Bodysnatchers....

Any chances for Golden Age titles in 2017 ?

Or particulary any chances for some Rozsa from LLL in 2017?

One for sure, 2nd qtr. A great Silver Age will hopefully finally happen in July and a classic North for Fall.

Damn MV

2017 sounds like it's going to be an outstanding year of releases from LLL. Really looking forward to what you have in store for us.

One Golden Age or one Rozsa, 2nd quarter? (Or both?) King of Kings and Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid could really use nice improved reissues...but MV also mentioned working on some Waxman titles (Spirit of St. Louis would probably be a good seller) as well as a definitive Diary of Anne Frank (Newman) being worked on.

The long-awaited Silver Age title must be The Great Race by Mancini...yessssssssssssssss... "PUSH THE BUTTON, MV!" smile

I'm also hoping that Top Gun makes an appearance this year as it's somewhat been alluded to.

Also have a feeling there will be some Turtle Power brought to us by Master John Du Prez.
