My two questions for MV concern the two scores NEVADA SMITH (Newman) and STORY OF A WOMAN (Williams) about which there has been so much pure speculation from fans on this board during the last years, but never ever any significant reply from one of those soundtrack producers really in the know about the facts and who collaborates with the Paramount and Universal studios:

- Are there still any original music elements available of the Newman or the Williams score at Paramount respectively at Universal at all or can we give up hope anyway that we will ever get them on CD?

- IF the original recordings have been preserved, would LLL be interested in releasing them at all? Or are there still other factors (too costly, double licensing...) preventing such projects?

Nevada Smith is happening in some form, but Mr Williams has requested that no release of a Story of. Woman will happen.

MV

That's great news concerning NEVADA SMITH. I bought the LP when it came out, always liked the way Newman & Darby arranged the music. Whether the LP is reissued or the actual tracks are issued it's a must-buy for me. A wonderful Alfred Newman score! smile

That is excellent news. I just hope however that it will be more than the LP presentation. In any case , it will be a definite purchase.

Any multi-film boxes of golden-era scores with production input from Lukas Kendall? I'm thinking of excellent sets like "Film Noir at Paramount" which he produced for Intrada. Any similar projects/joint ventures coming with LLL?

Batman Beyond, including Revenge of the Joker, might be coming but we are not 100% convinced there is enough of a market for it.

I tought Return of the Joker was pretty well represented on CD. Please focus on never before released stuff.

Oh, how I long to have that one, amazing cue where Old Bruce puts on the exosuit and beats the living $#!+ out of Inque...

I'd take a second volume of S: TAS, too.
997 to go.

Me too, right away, so keep counting!

As another example of how much I love these releases, I didn't liked when LLL decided to put both Bad Blood and JLA TT on the same one album, so you know what I did... I bought this CD twise and on my shelf I have one on the letter B and the other with the flipped cover on the letter J.

Good question Basil. I think the best selling Golden Age boxes would be:

WESTERNS FROM WARNER BROS.

WESTERNS FROM PARAMOUNT

WESTERNS FROM 20th CENTURY FOX

...... smile

They could at least release the cues that weren't on the Rhino CD release e.g. Terry's final showdown with the Jokerz, Batgirl's fight with Harley, Terry being pursued by Joker's laser cannon and the beginning of the Terry vs. Joker fight. I would love to have everything from the film.

There are, of course, some really spectacular scores from the show itself that deserve to be released, like Earth Mover, Meltdown, Hooked Up, Disappearing Inque, Blood Sport, Final Cut, Out of the Past, King's Ransom, Sneak Peek, The Call parts 1 & 2 etc.

Hi MV,

With both of Elfman's Batman movies getting a lovely set by you guys a few years ago, is there any chance or interest in doing a nice remastered expansion for either Darkman or Pee-Wee's Big Adventure?

I'd also like a "Nightmare Before christmas". It's only covered if somebody wants to shell out for a large and expensive Elf-box, which I suspect is only a fraction of people who want the score and song complete and remastered with today's technology.

MV,

Thanks for participating in one of the most interesting thread in ages. Thanks also for A.I. (which I've been listening to a ton recently, it's fantastic!), Braveheart, Dances with Wolves, Bear McCreary... I'll just stop there... I've got too many LLL releases to want to count, I just want to continue to enjoy them. smile

I must say, the work that you do provides hours upon hours upon hours(!) of listening enjoyment!

I have a question that NO ONE has dared to ask MV...

When will we get a monkey with every release?!

Oh, and does any of this come with cheese?

Dear MV,

I'm afraid i "feel" the answer to this one, but here goes:

How small are the chances for a release of James Horner's rejected "Streets Of Fire" score?

Best,
Burnie

Are there any plans for LLL to release anything more form Lucasarts?

I'd love to see a collection of some of their various Indiana Jones games scores, or releases on CD of the remastered soundtrack to Grim Fandango etc. Or a Monkey Island Collection. smile

Isn't that monkey on the logo just great? big grin

Yeah, it's a shame that they never released a CD only version of the Elf-box at a more affordable price. I would love that version of Pee-Wee and Beetlejuice as well as Nightmare. I thought that we'd see more individual releases by now. That well appears to have dried up. I hope I am wrong.

Not exactly an urgent or pressing question but when might we see the release of LLLCD1411? I remember that one being teased as a January/February release.

MV,

Is there any chance for the following complete releases?
"The Saint" (Graeme Revell)
"Sky Captain And The World Of Tomorrow" (Edward Shearmur)
"The Count Of Monte Cristo" (Edward Shearmur) I guess "Reign Of Fire" is Varese's property...
"Call Of Duty" Box Set (Michael Giacchino, Joel Goldsmith, Harry Gregson-Williams, Hans Zimmer, Lorne Balfe)

If a score was only release digitally or on cd-r-on-demand, is there any chance for the release of a complete version or is it a legal nightmare?
For example: "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island" (Andrew Lockington), "Soul Surfer" (Marco Beltrami), "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" (Brian Tyler) etc

Best regards!

I'd be lying if I said something like that isn't in the works.

Taking the effin elephant would be a dream project. As for Pee Wee Varese controls those rights.

If it exists it would be awesome to get that out there.
