I was going to congratulate Bruce on his award (Most Ignored) and make a pithy comment about having a celebration we could all ignore, but I got busy with other stuff and didn’t get back until this AM after he’d already been banned; oh, well.
I think it’s unfortunate to have to ban anyone, but it’s not like folks haven’t been warned.
Personally and this is just me, I didn’t find his comments offensive, sometimes annoying; but he was warned repeatedly, IIRC.

To Mr. Kendall and Mr. Sones, I appreciate your efforts to maintain a board we all love and enjoy and I’m sure you often find yourselves put in a DIYDDIYD environment, trying to balance rule enforcement while allowing free expression.
So, FWIW, Thank You For All You Do (and don’t do, if you get my drift)

I've posted many times how I love it here, and I still do. No matter where you go people will argue and not get along. It's sad but unavoidable.

Exactly. I've grown to like people's weird personalities here. I guess I don't see how one can get worked up about soundtracks enough to get into a fight. They are just entertainment. Anything entertainment based I can easily move on from and replace it with something else.

Just doing my part to contribute to the toxic thread (absolutely nothing personal). wink

Now be nice to each other or I’m locking this puppy!

Puppy abuse.

CinemaSins: That puppy-ist.

I have so many things I could say about Mr. Marshall, from his inability to "get it" to bumping threads and adding nothing to them, but instead of doing that and probably sounding like I'm having a victory post, I think I shall instead say:

I clearly didn't care for him. And while I'd not have asked he be removed, I am not sorry he is gone.

I did have a solemn moment about it, believe it or not, until I scrolled down and saw the the humorous image, then burst out laughing. That was a wild swing!

Though Ive been viciously attacked, called every name in the book and had my character smeared endless by some, Ive never once reported anyone. I haven't even put the majority of them on my ignore list. If needed I could just use the ignore button. But I guess that's to much to ask of some. Well the gloves are off. I'll be pounding that abuse button and notating the offenders personal attacks and obscenity laced tirades since we also support banning and shaming now.

Or, you could just carry on writing about what brings you here and what you love, and don't love, about movie music and film soundtracks?

Would be nice if we could all do that, yeah...

Better yet, stop adding to this thread so it can sink into oblivion. I've posted in other threads, but folks keep bumping this one up.

Btw, great avatar, Jackfu!

Can the Lecture Police not come in and do the same thing they are lecturing about?

We can walk and chew gum at the same time.

...I seem to recall seeing an archive where the forum (perhaps all the website) was in red!

I remember the 'red days'! Good times! (although we had our own 'toxic members' to deal with at the time, like Latham Conger III).

Gotta love the request for a Batman and Robin score album just a year after the film's release. If only that poor soul knew...

Ha, ha, indeed. Goldenthal prepared such a smoking score album for this, it's a shame it's never seen the (legal) light of day yet. Maybe some day....

Hey, thanks, Last Child! I was admiring yours as well! I remember it from ~63?
Did you animate it yourself?

I never had a problem with Bruce. I bought a cd from him last year and it was a smooth transaction. He was a character that's for sure.

It might just be a time out so he can reflect on his approach.

I have been aware of this thread and I can't say I am proud.

For a variety of reasons, I have been unable to improve the behavior on this board. I wish we had built it to use real names, not screen names, but it turns out the two most-ignored posters use their real names anyway.

Would you like to know who the most ignored FSM posters are? Maybe shame would have some sort of effect in improving the discourse.

Lukas

" Solium" and "BIllCarson" are their REAL NAMEZ!!??

smile

Bruce: you "win" the most ignored poster award. 84 ignores, almost twice that of the nearest "contestant."

This is not a compliment and for years I have wished you would make some sort of effort to post more thoughtfully.

I feel like I am in the no-win scenario of either letting people be as they are, or banning them and having to spend a ton of time policing this place.

Very unfortunate.

Lukas

84! I'm wondering how many I have? I know I can be annoying at times, but I don't mean to.frown

You just have trouble containing your Conti enthusiasm, just like I have trouble containing mine for Goldsmith. Usually you just make me smile. smile I hope you get some Conti score releases this year!
