After like ten mostly identical statements of the Obi-Wan theme in the finale, I was thoroughly sick of it. I'm not really sure what went wrong here. It was dying for development, for clever variations but instead, it was just beaten into the ground. The needle drop inclusions of legacy themes in the final episode also felt jarring to me, after so much time not bothering to use them. They should have been used throughout. And Holt's music for the final dual was sorely lacking in both power (despite a choir) and a catchy theme. Such a disappointment, this show. And its music. Sounds like more nostalgia bait. Disney folks just don't understand the IP nor do they have any love for it. You don’t really want to say that you understand and love the „IP“ better, do you?

I haven't watched the last episode yet, but I do think it's gotten slightly better with each passing episode, unlike MANDO & BOBA, which got progressively worse for me. Ep5 was the strongest, despite some unintentionally hilarious scenes (ANY TIME angsty girl shouts an order at the stormtroopers...the troopers and rebels advancing towards each other SO CLOSELY while shooting that they were virtually saying Excuse Me to shoot past each other...Vader waving the ship down!!! (and the OTHER ONE sneaking off right next door!! WTF). It's only gotten better cos I've remembered how sh!t older SW stuff is too. "Shit"? Well, hyperbole is the internet's biggest currency.

The association of the Rebel fanfare with the Millenium Falcon was there from the very beginning, and kept relatively consistent in the original trilogy. Williams' reprise of it in the sequel trilogy is in keeping with how he represented the ship in the past. However… It is also a theme that is often heard when the heroes are threatened, so it makes sense that it could be associated more with the antagonists, and it was certainly used thus in the NPR radio show.

Well, that's me and Disney Star Wars done. I didn't like Rogue One or its characters at all, so won't be interested in Andor. And I've got zero interest in that female Jedi with the snake on her head. And Obi Wan was a crushing disappointment overall. There is zero tension or excitement to be had watching duels and shootouts - in the pitch dark - between characters WE KNOW will go on to live until the feature film comes along. There's absolutely no peril or danger. Add terrible scripts, awful plotting and bad acting and it's a complete bust to me. Once again, even the new baddies are just sad, neglected wannabe goodies. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. A new John Williams theme and some classic character theme quotes will only cover over so much. Move Along...Move Along. You won’t return to voice your dislike for the next shows and scores?
