Morton Stevens' very first TV score was for the G. E. Theatre episode, "The Patsy" (1960) that starred Sammy Davis Jr.

Davis wanted Stevens to score this episode, which launched Mort's now famous TV scoring career.
I would love to have this score at some point in my collection.

FYI...:-)

Mraudio, was that the episode where Sammy played a boxer?

I've had the LP for over 40 years, a wonderful score by Elmer. The CD, in stereo, should sound much improved over the LP. Thanks Intrada for bringing this fine TV score back.

....... I wish I had broad shoulders like Reagan had! smile

Alert for OnyaBirri.

Yet another album cover with a picture of a middle-aged man.

Are your artistic sensibilities smarting? smile

Oh, my God!
When I saw the title thread I was hoping for Johnny Williams scores!!
Will you be able to release them?
And for starters, do you know for which episodes did he compose the music?

Konstantinos, this release is from LP masters. If the original tracks exist, Intrada did not use them.

I'm thinking they are long gone, which would include the Williams scores as well as any others by other composers.

It would be great if I'm wrong, of course, but....

And an offensive middle-aged man at that. I do love his son, though.

I am no fan of Elmer Bernstein, so this will be avoided for multiple reasons.

did you check out the samples? I have the benefit of an LP rip, and the music is pretty good. More like Leonard Bernstein.

As if Leonard Bernstein could hold a candle to Elmer! Tsk!

I'm sure Leonard would offer one to Elmer while they walked in a haunted house

yes, I saw later that it was transfer from an existing LP so my hopes were gone unfortunately..

so "original two-track masters" meant an LP, not a tape?

A very irritating and repulsive comment! Are you being serious? or what?

I think Elmer Bernstein's music is far superior to the other Bernstein.

Yes, I am not a big fan of Elmer, although I must have 15 or so albums by him, and I like some of them. My point was that the mummified 1950s television Dad on the album cover sealed the deal for me.

My post was in response to question that was specifically directed to me. I simply answered honestly.

But all of this means there will be one more copy for those who want this, so it's a win-win for us all.

I still love you.

No, not at all.

people in this thread are saying it's from a master LP, but if that's not implied from the description of "two-track masters" then I wonder where they got that info? Maybe I missed it elsewhere.

There is no "info" they got. It is a misunderstanding, either by them or you. There is a difference between an "LP master" and something being "mastered from an LP." In this case, this is a reissue of an LP presentation (which I believe was specially recorded for that LP), but taken from the master tapes used to make that LP.

Great release.

That cover pic will polarize it for some, but hey, it's Elmer at his heyday.

An amazing experimental time for TV too.

not my misunderstanding. I was trying to verify this post (a few posts up) about an LP transfer:

I posted earlier that the LP sounds alittle too good, more like a re-recording which would have been typical back then. I wonder if it's definitively noted someone.
