Geeked beyond measure. Thrilled that they open the door to requests. I'm going to post this on the FSM board, but that seems to be down for the moment, so I'll cross-post here just to make sure it gets seen smile

Disclaimer: I know folks are going to call for full eps from Voyager (Scorpion, Dark Frontier, Equinox, Endgame) so I'll leave those out and assume they make it onto the complete set. This list is meant to be gap-fillers only big grin

TNG S04E03 - Brothers

1. More David Bell please! Specifically, anything from the DS9 Season 4 episode "Sons of Mogh."

2. Dennis McCarthy, DS9 Season 2 episode "Sanctuary": the DS9 theme is used as a source cue (in Quark's bar). I don't have a Netflix timestamp at present but I'll update this post with one.

3. The alternate/TV version of "The Way You Look Tonight" from the DS9 finale. Somewhere in one of the DS9 release posts Mr Thaxton mentioned that the version LLL released was the original version and what was used for the actual episode was a different mix. I love the LLL version but maybe this would be somewhere to release the "episode version"?

Also, this is awesome...such a cool idea!

Perhaps the original orchestra music composed for the cancelled Star Trek Secret of the Vulcan Fury could be included:

I actually have a clean music only copy of this from the composer.

The principal theme from Jay Chattaway's SCORPION two-parter (VOY Season Three) also sticks out in my memory, but I imagine this is a good candidate for the upcoming VOYAGER set.

Scorpion was definitely one of the standout episodes both as a show and musically. I'd be surprised if it wasn't featured heavily already on the 4CD Voyager set.

And the long-requested, used before on other trailers, piece for the series finale of Voyager, reported to be composed by the Pfeifer Broz.:

I'd be shocked if this was included, as it is simply trailer music and not Trek music specifically. But it is a nice little piece.

This is huge! I very much appreciate the opportunity to place a request. Thank you.

The only piece I can think of offhand (besides Chattaway's "Scorpion" smile) is from McCarthy's score to "The Measure of a Man". I don't have a time index, but it's easy to find: it's the music for the scene when Data packs his belongings in preparation to leave the Enterprise.

If the 50th Anniversary set can include music from the films and not just the TV shows, then I highly recommend considering including the revised Epilogue from The Wrath of Khan without Nimoy voiceover please smile

It sounded to me like Lukas was only asking for TV requests, but if by some miracle he's able to include some other stuff I'd be interested in some film alternates and STII epilogue without narration. I also recall in the TNG request thread a lot of people asking for Chattaway's Star Trek: The Experience music, and this collection would seem to be a perfect opportunity for that and any other odds and ends there may be, not tied to a TV show.

In addition to the long list I made above, I'd like to add this promo for the Voyager episode Endgame:

I'm not sure if this is generic trailer music, but if it isn't, I'd love to see a clean version.

Lukas, to help out, I've posted what you said here, at a major Trek forum. No requests yet, but here's the link so you can keep an eye on it:

There are a few beautiful Scores from DS9, composed by Jay Chattaway left.

I would love to have included some of the music from following episodes:

Season 3: "Trough the looking glass" - The Escape scene through Terok'Nor's corridors before the last act of the Episode.

Season 3: "Equilibrium" - The Joining of Jadzia and Joran Dax in the pool on Trill at the end, as well as the lovely piano theme

Season 6: "Time's Orphan" - The Goodbye Sequence of Miles, Keiko and Molly O'Brien at the End

Season 6: "Tears Of The Prophets" - The Battle of Chin'To'Ka

Season 7: "Chimera" - The Last cue

And from VOYAGER:

Season 3: "Displaced" - The Long Takeover Sequence of Voyager around the 15:00 minutes mark.

It would be nice to have abbreviated short 20-25 minutes suites from all the STAR TREK films in the set. They should include the main/end titles along with a few major set pieces in between. A kind of highlights but not necessarily from the original OST versions.

From TNG it would be great to have the full compete score from Dennis McCarhty's The Last Goodbye , Symbiosis and Home Soil (from Season 1) The Measure of a Man and Elementary, Dear Data (from Season 2) would make great representation.

Also New interviews of the composers involved in the TV series could be used in the booklet.

I second all of the above--I honestly was thinking of most of those queues before they were posted, especially "Sacrifice of Angels" because, as was said, there IS some music from that episode already on the DS9 set, but not the music I was hoping for.

Dear La-La Land Gang and Lukas,

there is indeed a wish that I'd truly have for such an awesome set.
Could you please let it start with the "Original Star Trek" theme including William Shatner's iconic monologue? smile
IMHO that would be the perfect way to start for such an ambitious project.

And if I'm not mistaken it would be the only track from the Original series that could be addeded as kind of a novum, as the rest has already been done in the most ultimate way by you all! wink

Thanks a lot for considering this and thanks as well for giving us a chance to voice our wishes.
Truly outstanding customer service! big grin

P.S.: BTW never heard about this before, but it's too cool not to share for those who don't know about it:

I would VERY happy to find McCarthy`s "PICARD`THEME" at least one time on this 50th anniversary set.
Because it`s representing McCarthy`s style of the early years of TNG so much.

I love this melody!

And (for me) this little theme defenetly belongs to the music of THE NEXT GENERATION!
So it shoul be represented in any form.

:-)

My quick and easy answer any McCarthy you haven't released from Season 1-3 of TNG. That's the best starting point. All of that deserves to be released. While I'm happy more of it is, I won't be pleased until it's all (or mostly) out like the Ron Jones stuff. It's equally as good as the stuff Ron wrote and besides the FX, it's the only reason to rewatch those episodes.

Going further, I don't believe anything from "Contagion" TNG:S2 has been put out there. "The Hunted" TNG:S3 sticks out with all the fight scenes and stealth scenes with Roga Danar.

The only other thing I can think of that's not been presented yet is how about the unreleased bits from TNG/DS9/VOY that weren't used because they were "too noticeable" that Jay Chataway mentioned in the Enterprise release (something about recycling what they threw out when they asked him for a "new" sound). On that note, could any unused bits of "Tin Man" make it, or would GNP say no?

Not sure how this wasn't mentioned, but Brian Tyler's full score from "Canamar." Biggest omission from the ENT release, and probably intentional.
