Al Glasser and I were longtime friends. It's rather unusual since I live in Florida and he was in California. I visited him and his wife in their home many times over the years. His was a unique personality, but both he and Shirley were so kind and sensitive to me. Our first contact was when I was still a boy and loved Ferde Grofe's Rocketship X-M score, which Al orchestrated and conducted. Ferde referred me to Al, and I called him. As a result, Al sent me a tape containing the RX-M score. Years later, after completing college, I made a trip out west, and we hit it off right away. He made lots of tapes of his music for me and introduced me to Eric Korngold's work. I have a CD of The Fantastic Music of Albert Glasser. If you are interested, you can contact me at ilipscomb@cfl.rr.com.

You still have the tape of the score Rocketship X-M? Didn’t MMM release a copy of the 33 because the tapes couldn’t be found? Dragon Domain could possibly tackle that next.

Yes, I still have the tape, but it's well worn to say the least. I received it in 1956. Yes, MMM's release of the score was made from the Starlog LP released many years ago.

I'm still waiting for a C.D. release of "The Amazing Colossal Man" but, due to legal problems, it'll never happen.
