Certainly. We have these on our plate with UMG and they haven't said anything about missing masters. Licensing challenges, but not master issues. We'll stay on it but we have some other bigger fish with them at the moment.

Great to know. I never believe missing tape rumors until word comes from the people who regularly work on these things, especially after that Conan situation. There may be bigger fish in UMG's waters with regard to sales potential, but for my tastes, these Polydor recordings are as big as it gets.

This kind of thing has certainly happened more than once in our soundtrack business.

Record business in general. Not exclusive to soundtracks.

Starting the New Year with thanks to all of the labels for all of the fantastic releases and rerecordings from last year and the years before!

I also want to keep alive my wish for the coming year that at last we'll have these Suites on CD!

Yes, Polydor recordings will be great finally on cd !

And about Rozsa it will be great if one on label decide to re-release "King of Kings" which is so long out of print...

Yes, I know about the other thread, finder (since I posted on it), but the point is that's primarily about a different release entirely, and in case someone saw this and missed that one it seems worth sharing again.

I too would love to see the 3 Polydor LPs issued in CDs. I bought all 3 as they came out, fantastic collection! It's wonderful that Intrada recorded the Vol. 4 that was planned but Polydor never completed. Isn't Intrada working on this? Hope it comes to fruition.

Probably the main reason we haven't seen these yet is that Deutsche Grammophon just doesn't do film music releases anymore.

Na, they were released on Polydor & Deutsche Grammophon, all owned by UMG now, so it's: do UMG still have the tapes (I'm sure they do) & will they license them out.

"The Arrival" is a Deutsche Grammophon release.

Were there any additional suites recorded by Rozsa that ended up not being included on the 3 lp releases?

I remember when each of these lp's came out, how enthralled I was to hear music from films I'd never seen, like THE RED DANUBE, MOONFLEET, DIANE, or KNIGHTS OF THE ROUND TABLE.

Wonderful recordings. I hope somehow they can end up on a single CD release.

I'm listening to them right now - on CD. They are incredible albums and they sound amazing. I cannot say more, other than theses were done privately a few years ago by a friend - one can only hope they'll be released someday.

FYI, the following is an UNCONFIRMED RUMOR...So take it with more then a grain of salt...

I had one good source tell me that the tapes for all three albums have been lost, they have been unable to locate them in the vaults as of this date.

This would explain why they have never appeared on either CD or as a digital download as of this date.

There are some very good LP rips floating around, but this might be the reason it these three albums haven't appeared offically on CD.

This could be bad information on the part of my source, but the fact these albums are still MIA does lead a bit of support to this theory.
