Gavin Greenway is now listed as the conductor on the film on IMDb. No composer listed, though Greenway has worked with John Powell quite a bit.

All composers mentioned above are fine with me, however it would be great to have a new Douglas Pipes score & a LaLaLand CD release would be the icing on the cake!!!

Director has worked on a number of projects scored by Ottman. However two of the producers have worked on films scored by Jackman or Djawadi. My guess would be that it would be one of them. Fingers crossed for Powell though. That doesn't mean anything: Gareth Edwards hired Alexandre Desplat for Godzilla and Jordan Vogt-Roberts hired Henry Jackman for Kong. And Del Toro hired Ramin Djawadi

Nick Glennie-Smith is listed as the conductor on IMDb. I suspect another wasted scoring gig from some Zimmer satellite.

It's not. He's confirmed on Twitter. You tried both of his Cloverfield scores and didn't like them? Yavar

In all of FilmMusicReporter's articles, I only recall one assignment that was false. FMR is a go-to source for accurate scoring news.

Bear McCreary is one of the few newish voices in scoring that I really enjoy. His scores for "Battlestar Galactica" and its sequel "Caprica" are among my very favorite scores of this millennium, and I really enjoy his two "Cloverfield" scores. That said, I fear his creative leeway with a gigantic monster film like this will be fairly limited. I'm sure this film costs $200 million, and they'll be looking for a score that never surprises, and which hits every monster with an epic, gigantic sound that you might be able to make out over the sound effects. (I thought Desplat's score for the previous one was well done and professional, but never particularly memorable.) Obviously, I hope I'm proved wrong, but that trailer is about as cookie-cutter as humanly possible. I guess I just can't get excited about giant lizards who shoot blue beams out of their mouths somehow. But if this leads to more high profile assignments for McCreary, good for him!

Some of the Kaiju-related social media feeds I follow have been talking about Akira Ifukube's themes being used in this one. Excited to hear what McCreary does with them, if true.
