Well I was completely wrong in my guess. I was hoping for THE SILENCERS and MURDERERS' ROW. I will have to sample some of these tracks to see if I'm interested.

When has a boutique label ever released a straight-up LP version of a score after an expanded version has been widely available? The Easy Tempo version of The Tenth Victim was twice as long. When, Onya? In 2014, La-La Land issued a 2-CD edition on The Blue Max which contains a 'straight' re-issue of the Mainstream LP after previous incarnations of expanded discs on The Blue Max (such as the Intrada version from 2010 as well as the Sony CD from 1995). I, for one, am glad that a number of Mainstream LP programs have been surfacing onto legitimate CD albums [The Heroes of Telemark, Harper plus most of Mainstream's Jerry Goldsmith titles]. Hoping that Maurice Jarre's The Collector is in the pipeline.

I'm pretty sure that Intrada has released *all* of Jerry Goldsmith's Mainstream albums at this point...though they issued A Patch of Blue over two decades ago and it's long out of print, so maybe that's one they'll consider issuing again. For anyone wondering what else Intrada might tackle soon from the Mainstream vaults: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mainstream_Records A new release of The Collector by Maurice Jarre from original tapes would indeed be very cool, as would Barry's King Rat or Rota's Juliet of the Spirits. There are also works by other obscure but still talented film composers like Ruby Raksin (David Raksin's brother), Elliott Kaplan (no relation to Sol Kaplan as far as I know), and more... Yavar

Yavar Yeah ... that's The Square Root of Zero by E. Kaplan. Had this LP for years.

You like it then, I assume? I'm not very familiar with the composer. Yavar

In this case, we're simply getting a short version of a score that is a few generations removed from the masters. It makes no sense. Maybe this is senseless under the music appreciation category, but I think a lot of former LP collectors wish for the straight reissues of LP programs when they eventually arrive onto CD. Also, this might the first time that the Intrada label has released music by Piccioni. The only other American boutique label (as you term them) that issued Piccioni music was FSM [More Than a Miracle + Kenner] Another also - the artwork on Mainstream's version has been replicated. I don't think any of the other prior CDs on The 10th Victim utilized this particular illustration of Ursula Andress in bikini. Despite all my chat above regarding this Piccioni title, the real reason for me to purchase this CD is to get Garvarentz's That Man in Istanbul on digital media. I consider Garvarentz very underrepresented on CD.
