Oh snap! I’m gonna need another job! This looks very promising. I’ll grab those Airport and Colossus scores for sure. Hopefully some Columbo down the road.
This is just a sampling of what is in store. Golden age, silver age, modern and yes, eventually tv!!!

Thanks for the info MV. This looks like a great series of CDs in due time. I do indeed hope you can issue a few Golden and Silver Age CDs as you noted. Hopefully some music will still exist from the 1930s to 1970s. Miklos Rozsa? Hans Salter? Frank Skinner? etc.

HOLY MUTHA OF GAWD!!!!!!!!!!!!
FORBIN PROJECT (region 1 blu just released)!!!!!!!!!! THE SENTINEL (not my first choice but any Melle is better than none)!!!!!!!!!
So I guess the "meh" was a joke after all. Amazing news!!!! Guess I'll take those pins out of my MV voodoo doll. I thought you were thru with these low-selling holy grails. Feel free to bump up the price to make up for it - they're worth it.
The COLOSSUS release was featured in La-La Land's Wondercon ad. I thought it was something they would have at the show to sell, but of course they didn't, and then it wasn't being mentioned in announcements. I was starting think I had hallucinated the darn thing!
Knowing there are insiders who recognize the value of their music library and are aggressively working to preserve and restore their catalogue is huge. This is how all the studios should be looking at their assets. Happy to hear titles are still coming out on CD. But if nothing else restore and put them up digitally. Guess LLL got another 25 years of work ahead of them.
WOW ! This looks so fantastic. Thinking of 40's Rozsa, ROOSTER COGBURN, NIGHT PASSAGE,THE LAST SUNSET,CAPTAIN NEWMAN M.D., THE GREAT IMPOSTER, MILAGRO BEANFIELD WAR, MADIGAN,RESURRECTION and so many more that others have mentioned already or will mention on this thread. Are there 40's material that can be salvaged ? How about 1939's DESTRY RIDES AGAIN or 1943's FLESH AND FANTASY ? Am I dreaming too big?
This is AMAZING news. In a world where hyperbole is everywhere, one can't really overstate how much this will impact fans and collectors. The potential is vast, but the impact on our little film music world is nothing less than seismic. Thanks La La Land, Mike, Universal, and all who have/are/will make this possible.
COLOSSUS : THE FORBIN PROJECT - A science fiction masterpice! 1983 I saw this movie on TV and was immediately fascinated by the extraordinary music. Now exactly 35 years later I get the music! I know soundtracks like ANDROMEDA STRAIN, FORBIDDEN PLANET, PHASE IV, etc. are not everyone's business. But for a change with great classics like STAR WARS or STAR TREK etc., these soundtracks are very fascinating from time to time. After PHASE IV, now another "unusual" treasure from LA-LA-LAND RECORDS. For me the top score release of this year(so far)! And nothing "meh". Also I hope now(after the AIRPORT scores) for a release of Lalo Schifrins score of STARFLIGHT ONE.

Lol
It was a total mistake. Originally this news was supposed to break in time for Wondercon but last minute approvals delayed things. We accidentally uploaded an old version of the ad to the wondercon folks and that's what they printed.
We are deeply honored to be part of this special project and hope you guys like the product.
It is super exciting. Maybe you'll finally get a Rozsa score on the label as you've long been wanting, eh MV? (Presuming some of those 40s tapes have survived long enough to be helped by this preservation project...)
