Hans Zimmer. He ruins everything now, so hopefully he can score some BS that puts an end to this long-done franchise. A believer!

In all seriousness, I think this is a series that really _does_ need sleek, electronic music that can kind of jump off from what Fidel did, on part 2 specifically. To that end, someone like a Zimmer disciple probably wouldn't be a bad choice. Or somone else who could similarly capture the cold, eerie feeling of relentless pursuit and dread that Fiedel did. As much as I love Beltrami's score and Elfman's score, they didn't quite fit the world as well, and I think that the "warmth" their music brought to the series was part of the problem. At least Elfman's movie was a different kind of thing that required a different sort of approach (in that it was set AFTER the robot uprising), but some of the more orchestral bits of T3 just didn't really seem right for the material to me, despite being very effective at times. I think some of the more outlandish suggestions in this thread are choices like Giacchino and David Arnold and Alan Silvestri, etc, who really haven't written music that's anything like what the series might need in the past and would be unlikely to do it now. Let a young innovator do it instead of one of the usual suspects. Unless, of course, John Scott is available.

I gave Jablonsky a pass, though I should have based on his output for many years now. Even though I have yet to hear anything from "Steamboy" that I like, I can't fault it for being awful, but I highly doubt he'd take such an approach to a Terminator film.

Yeah, I recall that, too, which I am glad for. I wish other franchises with awful films would consider this. For example, if they made another Jaws film -- which I am not for! -- the third and fourth should be ignored. It's not like the second is any great shakes, but it's not so horrible it has to be ignored (though I'd be fine with that, too).

I'm not interested unless they bring Robert Patrick back.
