I'm looking forward to the score, but the film ... watching that trailer it's like Disney never got the old film, don't know how to films that don't cry fakeand trying too hard. And that actress playing Poppins ... cringe-y.
Emily Blunt is the actress and she is quite a good. I love the original film and I'm excited for this version- just because she is playing Mary Poppins. How is this gorgeous woman cringe-y?
What a load of bitchy crap about Emily Blunt. She is one of the better actresses out there and has done a wide range of characters and genre: Comedy (The Devil Wears Prada), action(Edge of Tomorrow) and my favorite film of hers, the intense drama Sicario.
The trailer looks cute and whimsical and I bet overall it will be lighthearted fun, just like the original was.
As its MP I'm quite excited about this i'm not a fan of musicals but I do appreciate some stuff, the trailer, picture & cast looked great, I await an engrossing film/score 54 years is a long-time this worth memory lane.
I'm surprised Julie Andrews doesn't have a part therein.
She was asked and respectfully declined, not because she was against being in the film, but because she and everybody else knew she would upstage Emily Blunt and detract attention away from her in the process, even if it was just a cameo.
Julie knows that's something that you don't do to the star when she is now playing the role you originally and memorably (to entire generations) played. There's a lot riding on Emily Blunt after all. This is planned to be her "role of a lifetime".
