Oh well, the Season 2 theme without the cat noise must be lost. Sadly, it is gone. Neil When I read that the sound fx were included, I immediately thought "if Neil Bulk couldn't find it, it's gone." Thanks!!

Oh well, the Season 2 theme without the cat noise must be lost. Sadly, it is gone. Neil When I read that the sound fx were included, I immediately thought "if Neil Bulk couldn't find it, it's gone." Thanks!! That's very flattering. We found one recording of it. It started off okay and then about 5 seconds in it just started degrading and getting worse and worse. It was totally unreleasable. I couldn't even use it to fill in the sections with the sound effects. It just died. It was heartbreaking. But there's a ton of other music that was salvageable and that's what's on this album. Enjoy! Neil

I was upset over it in 1996. I'm better now. Very happy the Irwin Allen shows still get some attention. I'm jazzed about the Stevens, Geller and LaSalle scores. The series had great music. And I always welcome more Mullendore. Thank you!!

Even though I have the old GNP Crescendo release of LotG, I had completely forgotten that Courage had a rejected score for "The Crash". Shame on you!

I should come as a surprise to no one that I'm content with my original release (in the Irwin Allen box), and that goes for the other expanded Williams releases as well. True, it comes as no surprise that Thor is not interested in expansions. However, Thor, there are nine other composers who wrote for this series and most of their music was not on that (lone) disc which GNP devoted to Land of the Giants. This 4-CD edition should not be considered merely as a John Williams expansion but rather as a proper representation of music from this series. Had Williams not been involved with this program, fans of TV music should nevertheless be thrilled about this forthcoming La-La Land production. The availability/discography of music by the likes of Robert Prince, Richard LaSalle, Harry Geller, etc. is exceedingly slim and infrequent. This set shouldn't be passed over simply because a lot of us already have/had GNP's Irwin Allen box.
