How generous of you.

Would choose to see Thunderball, just to get in on all that crazy 60s Bondmania.

Oh man that was a great experience!!!!!
Remember it like it was yesterday!

The film I would like to have seen was actually released in my lifetime, Kozintsev’s version of Hamlet (1964).
!

Let me guess: it is five hours long!

Only if you watch it exactly twice.

It’s nice that you are doing this. Since I don’t have the ability to buy these myself, I’m gonna participate.

1). Harry Potter box set is my first choice, Dracula is second

2) I would love to see Lawrence of Arabia in 70mm! It’s as epic as epic gets!

You’re awesome for doing this every year Adam. Thank you.

1. I’d like to enter for the Harry Potter set.

2. Wish I could have seen The Hustler on the big screen.

Awesome, thanks as always Adam for putting on this yearly show.

1) I'd like to enter for DIE HARD only please.

2) My pick here is JAWS. Partly because it's my favorite movie, but mainly because it's the epitome of the theatrical experience. I would've loved to be in the crowd on opening day as this thing just blew us all through the back of the theater. Maybe I'd even be young enough that this would be my gateway score into this weird, wonderful world we all love.

A most generous offering, Adam.

1) Put me in the running for Die Hard, please
2) I wish I could have seen Saving Private Ryan on the big screen, especially for its 20th anniversary, which I missed

Much obliged, Adam.

I have DRACULA & The Potter Box should arrive soon, but DIE HARD would be a nice bonus/surprise, to be sure.

I would have loved to have seen THE GHOST & MRS MUIR on the big screen.
I have a soft spot for the film and the score is heart breaking and beautiful.
It would have left me a blubbering wreck, but it would have been worth it smile

I'd say for for Die Hard or Dracula.

I would love (ideally) to see Star Trek: The Motion Picture on the big screen from it's initial release.

Hearing Goldsmith's score, and seeing my favorite incarnation of the Enterprise on the big screen would be an amazing treat.

Fab offer - thanks for it, and good luck everyone.
Put my name into the sorting hat for the Potters then please :-)

I think my big-screen choice would be 2001. Just a very visual spectacle that deserves a big wide screen to see it on.
EDIT: Ah, I see JohnnyRoastBeef has already suggested 2001, so I'm scoring nothing for originality - hey ho, proves it's a sensible choice eh?

I'd love to win a copy of Die Hard & Dracula.

I would also love to see William Wyler's original 1959 classic Ben-Hur in a theater, one of the greatest widescreen epics ever produced. I've only ever seen in it on a 47" screen at home, so to see that chariot race in a darkened theater, projected on the largest screen possible would be a dream come true. I see TCM is bringing it back to theaters next spring, so maybe I'll get my chance.

I'd love to enter for Die Hard 3CD and the Harry Potter set! Thanks so much for your generosity, once more.

Okay...my answer to the question -- at the moment -- is The Court Jester, one of my favorite films...but since it's a comedy, I really need to have not only a theater showing but one full of an appreciative audience. smile

well. i will give it a go..this is my first time entering your contest..sounds like fun..please put me on the lists for all three titles..as for my movie pic..it would be "Jaws"..i was born in 1965 so i was ten when the film came out..i was at summer camp and my family came to visit me and my dad asked me if i wanted to see it..and i knew what it was generally about..a great white shark, which i was fascinated by at that age..and i said no(even if deep inside i wanted to say yes but i knew i would have been terrified.,I could have been brave)..fast forward to 1977-away at school in NH..i had a friend there whose father worked for General Cinemas Corp.and we went to see Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger at the Framingham General Cinema- when we were home on vacation..right next to our theatre .."Jaws" was playing..it might have been the first time it was reissued..not sure..anyway..i decided i would peek my head in for a look..still brave,of course,so i creeped up to the door..opened it..there was a woman standing there watching,,and i just quickly looked for a minute,,and saw a scene that is nowhere to be seen in the DVD(a shot of the shark swimming past a designated swimming area.)anyway- i didnt go back but could hear the sounds coming from next door while i was watching Sinbad..and wondered what was happening-and being more interested in "Jaws" than Sinbad..thanks-Adam-smile

You very generous indeed Adam. In my case I do not want any title as they’re all already on order. Received Dracula already which is fantastic!

As for the film I’m with Mike on this one. Jaws is my favorite film ever and I never had the chance to see it in theater. I’d love to go back in time and watch it at 14 yrs old (I had 2 in 1975) on its premiere.

Hi Adam,

Thank you again for running this contest, and your never-ending generosity.

1. I would also like to throw my name in for all three too. They all are amazing releases.

2. The first movie I ever saw in the theatre was The Care Bears Movie. But if I could watch one on the big screen that I never got to see during it's run would be Zhang Yimou's HERO (in Mandarin with subtitles) for it's gorgeous colourful visuals, massive scope, and wonderful score by Tan Dun. I have fond memories of seeing Crouching Tiger in Toronto in IMAX when it had it's run, but HERO would be phenomenal to see on the big screen. Heck, if I have the option, it'd be the Director's Cut of the film.

If you could go to a theater and see ANY movie that you never got to see on a big screen in it's original run what would it be?

Put me down for all three titles, please.

I missed out seeing it re-released on the big screen around 1970 (bumper-to-bumper traffic to the cinema made my parents turn back), but even if I had seen it then, I'd love to have been there when it debuted in 1933: KING KONG.

Thanks so much for your generosity!

1. Put me down for Harry Potter

2. I would love to see the original RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK in the theater. I can't recall seeing this in the theater when it came out, but I definitely remember seeing Temple of Doom and Last Crusade. A classic that never goes out of style and I'm anxious to see if they can redeem themselves with Indy V and actually close out the series with a fitting ending.

As always, a very generous offer, Adam. Please put me in the running for Die Hard or Dracula.

I would love to have seen The Fellowship of the Ring on the big screen. I saw the other two that way after being blown away by a tiny full-screen version of FOTR. I can only imagine what it must have been like to experience that film in theaters having no real idea what to expect from Jackson’s take on the world of Tolkien. Must have been incredible. It’s still my favorite LOTR film to this day.

Adam, please place my name on the Harry Potter.

There are so many good choices for my "first" big screen experience. But I will have to go down to my most favorite film of all time. I will go back to 1947 during the Golden Age of Hollywood, no CGI, or glorious color, just a great lesson of how the richest people we know are the ones who are loved by friends, "It's a Wonderful Life." I would also invite my wife who started watching this movie with me every Christmas and now has become her favorite. Yes at the time it was a bomb in ratings, but how great would of been to be one of the minority to witness it first before it became the legend.

Merry Christmas Everyone,

Welcome to my 9th Annual Christmas Season CD giveaway contest. Well, not so much a contest...but it is a giveaway!

This year I'd like to offer three popular titles that have been released recently. Those titles are....

  • Die Hard by Michael Kamen. 3CD set from La-La Land
  • Dracula by John Williams. 2CD set from Varese Sarabande
  • Harry Potter Soundtrack Collection by John Williams. 7CD box set from La-La Land

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you would like to participate and have a chance to win one of these titles please post on this thread and answer these two questions. The quality of your answer to question #2 will not increase or decrease your chance of winning. It simply serves as your entry into my contest.

    1) Tell me which title you would like to win. You may put yourself in the running for one, two or all three titles.

    2) If you could go to a theater and see ANY movie that you never got to see on a big screen in it's original run what would it be? An epic? An animated film? An old B&W horror or sci-fi flick from the thirties, forties or fifties? Anything at all. Your answer will make for some interesting reading for all who participate.[

Hi Adam, most generous as always -

    1) The one I'd "quite like to have" is John Williams' DRACULA.

    2) Probably PLANET OF THE APES. Just too young to see it on its original run, but I did see all the sequels on the big screen. Must have been awesome to see the original "as new".
