THE OTHER - THE DELUXE EDITION wink

HOT SHOTS! PART DEUX - THE DELUXE EDITION

Wouldn't it be great if Robert had the chance to produce both a final Goldsmith and a final Poledouris expansion, for his final batch?

Neil S. Bulk just tweeted:

I produced one of these with @RobertTownsonP1. I'm looking forward to everyone enjoying it!

Not sure if that hints at anything.

Yes, that it will be quality work. On the release itself, not commenting on the music.

if not this time then perhaps next, would love to see some Goldenthal expanded, 'Sphere' in particular.

So, does that mean that some LP programs that haven't yet been released on CD will be lost forever ?
If that's the case, i'm not too happy about it !

The latter. LOL

We're all just shouting out random titles I think. big grin

I'm waiting for a "Predator 2!!" post.

Most likely, we're all just wishing for that certain title. Mine is "The 'Burbs."

Not necessarily. Varese this past year released some of these LP titles as CD premieres (like Firestarter), not branded as Encore Editions. So they could still come out I think...which titles are you particularly wanting from this list?

These are the remaining 30 Varese LP titles unreleased on CD:

STV 81117 Blood and Sand - Alfred Newman / Golden Earrings - Victor Young
STV 81137 Prince of the City - Paul Chihara
STV 81159 The Twelve Chairs - John Morris
STV 81163 Slapstick (of Another Kind) - Morton Stevens, Michel Legrand
STV 81164 Eating Raoul - Arlon Ober
STV 81186 Young Warriors - Robert J. Walsh
STV 81210 Blame it on Rio - Kenneth Wannberg
STV 81222 The Fourth Man - Loek Dikker
STV 81224 Swann in Love / Verlorene Ehre Der Katharina Blum - Hans Werner Henze
STV 81227 La Pirate - Philippe Sarde / Dimanche à La Campagne, Un - Louis Ducreux, Marc Perrone
STV 81229 Places in the Heart - John Kander
STV 81232 The Flamingo Kid - Curt Sobel
STV 81239 Certain Fury - George Masenburg, Russell Kunkel, Bill Payne
STV 81243 The Gods Must Be Crazy - John Bosshoff
STV 81245 Christopher Columbus - Riz Ortolani
STV 81247 Just the Way You Are - Vladimir Cosma / Wetherby - Nick Bicât (only former since released on CD)

STV 81258 Paroles et Musique - Michel Legrand
STV 81265 Marie - Francis Lai

Thanks for the list, Yavar.
My most wanted from that list would be DANCE WITH A STRANGER by Richard Hartley.

Yavar's list

Man, I wish that the LP to CD Club would have stuck around another year. I would have liked to hear some of those.

74 is the key number.
March 15th is the 74th day of the year in the Gregorian calendar.
Apply the number 74 to the year of the score and we find that 1974 was the year the film "Earthquake" was released.
And another clue... at that precise time John Williams was still under the age of... 74.
Still more evidence: The original Varese release of Earthquake was VSD 5262. Giving the letters VSD a numerical value based on each letter's position in the alphabet, we have 22, 18 and 4... adding up to 44. Then add the release numbers 5-2-6-2 together and we have 15. Double that number, as all good magicians do, and we have 30. And what happens if we add the 44 to the 30? SEVENTY FOUR, AGAIN!
Therefore John Williams' score for Earthquake will clearly and undeniably be the upcoming Encore Edition.

Man, I wish that the LP to CD Club would have stuck around another year. I would have liked to hear some of those.

Since that series ended, Varese has still premiered some LP titles of theirs on CD (such as Firestarter by Gary Chang and Revenge of the Ninja by Rob Walsh). And Intrada premiered their LP album of Silent Running on CD...

Could the Encore be RAGGEDY MAN or MACARTHUR, I wonder.

I'd buy either or both of those in a flash! Fingers crossed!
