Continuing SEASON 2:
"Requiem for C.Z. Smith" By: Robert Drasnin + https://ok.ru/video/3144153893562 Legal Crackle video link: https://www.crackle.com/details/59c639b0-57eb-4bd6-abd0-1aec8f1ff2fe/police-story-(series)/requiem-for-c.z.-smith Highlights: 9:41 in. The source music.^ 33:06 in.^ 35:48 in.^ 38:38 in.^ This is the weakest most uninteresting score I've heard thus far from Drasnin. The full score does not need to be released; I think only what I cited should be released. "Fathers and Sons" By: Bernardo Segáll https://ok.ru/video/3144155204282 This is the only effort by Segall for the series. Highlights: 4:09 in. 11:37 in.^ 14:12 in.^ 20:25 in.^ 26:26 in.^ 33:43 in.^ 38:49 in.^ 41:31 in.^ Not all of this needs to be released. I'd say only about half of what I cited is all that should get released. 44:46 in: the corpse moved right on the edit. "I'm the only kid in California who's got Hitler for a father. "A World Full of Hurt" By: Robert Drasnin https://ok.ru/video/3144154417850 Highlights: 2:31 in. 3:55 in.^ 6:07 in.^ 11:46 in. And the cue after the commercial break, which opens like a continuation of the previous cue.^ 16:51 in.^ 18:55 in.^ 21:10 in. 22:11 in. 26:47 in.^ 30:22 in. And the cue after the commercial break.^ 39:43 in.^

12:29 in: probably tracked. According to Jon Burlingame (and I believe the Prometheus album notes) Jerry Goldsmith only scored the pilot, and then many of his cues were adapted into library versions. So most likely all episodes that credit Goldsmith writing the score are tracked (or mostly tracked). Yavar

Continuing SEASON 2:
"Requiem for C.Z. Smith" "Across the Line" By: Jerry Goldsmith https://ok.ru/video/3144154745530 Highlights: 0:58 in. 7:42 in. 12:10 in. 14:40 in.^ 17:08 in. And the cue after the commercial break.^ 19:57 in.^ 22:16 in.^ 24:11 in.^ 29:09 in.^ 31:00 in. And the cue after the commercial break.^ 38:07 in.^ 43:07 in. Even though Goldsmith is the credited composer, I seriously doubt some of this score is his work, original or tracked; I think it's tracked material from other composers. EDIT: See Yavar's post above this one. For the guys here: 9:05 in. You're welcome. "Explosion" By: Jerry Goldsmith https://ok.ru/video/3144154352314 Legal Crackle video: https://www.crackle.com/details/370d4039-e34f-4a08-a2af-69d995b57261/police-story-(series)/explosion This is the final episode Goldsmith is credited on. Highlights: 1:22 in. 12:18 in.^ 15:53 in.^ 16:49 in.^ 21:23 in.^ 23:20 in.^ 25:47 in.^ 33:40 in.^ 36:09 in.^ "Captain Hook" By: Richard Markowitz https://ok.ru/video/3144154942138 Legal Crackle video: https://www.crackle.com/details/1fbd7ce7-8bcf-4a58-8f49-459a207e72b6/police-story-(series)/captain-hook Highlights: 2:27 in.^ 3:24 in.^ 20:56 in.^ 22:58 in. The source music. And the score cue that immediately follows it.^(score cue) 27:57 in. I think this may be tracked from a prior episode (maybe a Markowitz one).^ 39:59 in. Pretty sure -- without comparing it -- this is from "Violent Homecoming". 45:22 in. A hookman who isn't evil. "Do you realize I've been looking at that face of yours for fifteen years? That's no reward." "You realize its been no picnic for me either?"

Continuing SEASON 2:
"Incident in the Kill Zone" By: Richard Markowitz https://ok.ru/video/3144154614458 Highlights: 1:01 in.^ 5:15 in. Pretty sure this is all tracked and may all be Goldsmith pieces. 16:17 in.^ 21:32 in.^ 30:53 in.^ 32:39 in. And the cue after the commercial break.^ 38:24 in: Pretty sure this is tracked. "Headhunter" By: Richard Shores https://ok.ru/video/3144155007674 Highlights: 0:23 in.^ 8:17 in.^ 14:26 in.^ 17:04 in.^ 22:20 in.^ 27:19 in.^ 33:38 in.^ 35:49 in.^ 39:07 in. 41:38 in. 44:09 in.^ A low-key score for an episode that's more tense emotional drama than any real action. I'm not sure how much of this score I would include on a set of season two. "Year of the Dragon: Part 1" By: Richard Markowitz https://ok.ru/video/3144154876602 Highlights: 2:33 in. 8:28 in.^ 10:44 in.^ 15:35 in.^ 2207 in.^ 27:33 in. 33:13 in. 42:05/43:24 in.^(part of first) 0:34 in: airplane porn.

Continuing SEASON 2:
"Year of the Dragon: Part 2" By: Richard Markowitz https://ok.ru/video/3144154024634 Highlights: 9:52 in. Pretty simple, not much to it, but I just really enjoy this kind of stuff.^ 11:11 in. 15:16 in. Opening with a laid-back Goldsmith theme arrangement, the cue quickly goes into car-chase music mode for the vast remainder.^ 20:50 in.^ 23:10 in.^ 31:58 in. Burlesque jazz music. About forty seconds long, but it stops when the scene is cut off, so I suspect a full cue was recorded so it could be used anywhere in the cue as needed.^ 36:09 in.^ 40:35 in.^ 43:15 in.^ Guest starring our favorite F.B.I. agent from "Greatest American Hero". I strongly suspect there's a good deal of ad libing from him. The first seven minutes is re-capping! Special note to whomever was the actress at about 20:50 in. Her acting in cries of sadness, were just spot on and totally believable. And all that in ten or less seconds. (NtM: 14:37, 29:45) "To Steal a Million" By: Harry Suckman https://ok.ru/video/3144153959098 This is Sukman's only effort for the series. Highlights: 2:26 in.^ 6:05 in.^ 11:42 in. Short outtro cue, and the cue after the commercial break.^ 26:49 in.^ 38:14 in. Including the Goldsmith theme.^ 44:05 in. I feel this score was rather standard and unremarkable. Sukman won't be missed on this show, for me. In fact, the entire episode is rather standard and not on the level of any prior episode I can recall. (NtM: 5:19, 28:30) "The Execution" By: Robert Drasnin https://ok.ru/video/3144154090170 Highlights: 0:47 in.^ 12:29 in. 17:52 in.^ 39:36 in.^(parts) 42:56 in. Drum kit, brass, and timpani for chase music.^ There's not much scoring in the episode and I cited almost all of it. 30:05 in should be an edited track job from "Violent Homecoming" (also a Drasnin effort).

Finishing SEASON 2:
"The Man in the Shadows" By: Richard Markowitz https://ok.ru/video/3144154221242 Highlights: 1:10 in. 22:59 in. Montage-ish Goldsmith theme arrangement.^ 24:27 in.^ 35:46 in.^ 38:35 in. 39:53 in. 41:14 in. Tense cue with a wooden block and tambourine backing in the open.^ Another episode with not much scoring. I also cited most of it. (NtM: 16:57) "War Games" By: Richard Markowitz https://ok.ru/video/3144155073210 Alternative link: https://ok.ru/video/6915393522317 Highlights: 4:10 in.^ 9:51 in. 12:14 in.^ 16:51 in.^ 23:42 in. 30:14 in.^ 34:57 in.^ 40:12 in.^ 42:19 in. God this episode if awful. Hollywood people still think this is how southerners are to this day. (NtM: 33:25, 37:53) NO LOAD FOUND. "The Return of Joe Forrester" By: Richard Markowitz Feature-length back-door pilot that leads to the short-lived spin-off series "Joe Forrester". For some reason Crackle does not have this episode up with the rest of season two.

Continuing SEASON 3:
"A Community of Victims" (3.3) By: Richard Markowitz https://ok.ru/video/3147017685690 Highlights: 1:30 in.^ 5:39 in.^ 11:32 in.^ 15:03 in.^ 18:09 in.^ 23:41 in. 27:03 in.^ 29:50 in.^ 39:09 in.^ 44:39 in. There's just no consistency in the composer and theme music credits on this show. Here we have a weird one: Music by ................. RICHARD MARKOWITZ And the same for Jerry underneath, whereas for a number of episodes some consistency had start to settle in, with a regular-looking composer credit and the theme music credit further into the end credits. But some typist really likes excessive periods here. And "JERRY" looks like its falling down on the left side. "Losing Game" (3.4) By: Gerald Fried https://ok.ru/video/3147018472122 This is Fried's only effort for the series. Highlights: 2:07 in.^ 13:46 in. 19:49 in.^ 34:17 in.^ 37:22 in.^ This is a fairly weak score and based upon it, it's not real loss that Fried didn't score any further episodes. NO LOAD FOUND. "The Cut Man Caper" (3.5) By: Richard Markowitz

Continuing SEASON 3:
"Face for a Shadow" (3.6) By: Richard Shores https://ok.ru/video/3147017751226 Highlights: 3:44 in.^ 12:04 in.^ 17:47 in.^ 19:45 in.^ 21:26 in.^ 26:09 in.^ 29:05 in.^ 33:32 in.^ 34:02 in.^ 36:52/39:18 in.^ 41:09 in.^ 42:40 in.^ 0:49 in should be tracked from the Drasnin effort "Violent Homecoming". (NtM: 33:27) Out-of-context quote exchange... Wife: After kissing him, "What was that?" Husband: "That's Dick." "Vice: 24 Hours" By: Richard Markowitz https://ok.ru/video/3147018275514 Highlights: 0:51 in.^ 15:15 in.^ 17:12 in.^ 35:09 in.^ 37:05 in.^ * 41:30 in.^ 45:13 in.^ * = The cue after the commercial break should be tracked from "Violent Homecoming". "Breaking Point" By: Robert Drasnin https://ok.ru/video/3147017226938 Highlights: 2:45 in.^ 16:35 in.^ 23:04 in.^ 36:23 in.^ 38:21 in.^ Not much from this score should be released. (NtM: 35:33) "I'm not a murderer." "What the hell do you call it, Armstrong...?"

Continuing SEASON 3:
"Company Man" By: Richard Markowitz https://ok.ru/video/3147017292474 Highlights: 3:40 in.^ 9:33 in.^ 12:36 in.^ 18:13 in.^ 21:29 in. 33:25 in. Might be tracked from "Violent Homecoming".^ 37:20 in.^ 39:44 in.^ 42:13/43:20 in. "Spanish Class" By: Robert Drasnin https://ok.ru/video/3147018341050 Legal Crackle.com link: Highlights: 2:12 in.^ 4:33 in.^ 13:13 in. And the cue after the commercial break.^ 29:17 in.^ 30:12 in.^ 33:18/42:32 in. The bar source music.^ 41:21 in.^ 43:32 in.^ Actor Joe Santos really delivers as the upbeat and time-worn officer. "Odyssey of Death: Part 1" By: Richard Markowitz https://ok.ru/video/3147018013370 Alternative link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSUI_xMgfGc Highlights: 5:34 in.^ 7:18 in. Over four minutes of action and dramatic music for a robbery and police foot chase.^ 12:50 in.^ 14:55 in.^ 24:59 in.^ 36:38 in.^ 38:08 in. Seven and-a-half minutes long, to the end of the episode.^ I cited an estimated 75% of the episode score. The full score doesn't need to be released, but in my opinion everything I cited should be. Robert Stack guest stars as the lead. (NtM: 19:53)

"Odyssey of Death: Part 2" By: Richard Markowitz https://ok.ru/video/3147018209978 Alternative link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SfRCoRyWnGE Highlights: 7:34 in. I think this might be the same cue I heard in "Country Boy" that I said I think I had heard before.^ 24:12 in.^ 31:55 in.^ 34:36 in.^ 40:05 in.^ "The Other Side of the Fence" By: John Parker https://ok.ru/video/3147017161402 This is the final effort by Parker for the series. Highlights: 0:55 in.^ 3:26 in.^ 12:50 in.^ 34:17 in.^ 36:49 in. About five or six minutes into the cue, it sounds like it becomes an edit job (possibly all Goldsmith].^ Out-of-context quote... "Lucker contacted me this morning, said he had something big..." "50¢ Cents First Half Hour, $1.75 All Day" By: Robert Drasnin https://ok.ru/video/3147017947834 This is the final effort by Drasnin for the series. Highlights: 5:52 in. Could be tracked Markowitz.^ 10:02 in.^ 10:59 in.^ 20:59 in.^ 33:41 in.^ 42:04 in.^ For the guys here: 40:35 in. You're welcome.

Continuing SEASON 3:
"Firebird" By: Richard Shores https://ok.ru/video/3147017882298 Highlights: 1:08 in.^ 9:38 in. And the cue after the commercial break.^ 19:35 in.^ 24:13 in.^ 25:41 in.^ 41:29 in.^ 43:10 in.^ I can't readily say, but it sounds like some of the scoring might be tracked, so I'm not sure how much original score is in this episode. Apparently being burned in a fire morphs you into a merry Serpico. (NtM: 35:49) "The Long Ball" By: Richard Markowitz https://ok.ru/video/3147017358010 Highlights: 0:49 in. 1:49 in.^ 8:19 in. At a certain point it switches to that tracked cue I have mentioned twice before, from "Country Boy".^ 22:35 in.^ 24:46 in.^ 34:52 in.^ 38:46 in.^ 42:53 in. 43:58 in.^ Claude Akins guest stars again. This was his second of three episodes, each one playing a different cop character. (NtM: 33:36, 37:00) "Eamon Kinsella Royce" By: Richard Markowitz https://ok.ru/video/3147017554618 Highlights: 1:09 in.^ 26:49 in. 33:16 in. The country-flavored source music. 38:39 in.^ There's not much scoring in the episode. On a set of season three scoring, I'd probably just keep the first cue and the source cue. 34:21 in: should be that tracked cue yet again, from "Violent Homecoming".

Concluding SEASON 3:
"Officer Dooly" By: Richard Markowitz https://ok.ru/video/3147018537658 Highlights: 3:27 in. I think most of that freeway chase music is tracked.^ 13:19 in.^ 14:46 in.^ 21:42 in. The bar source music. And the cue after the commercial break.^ 24:03 in.^ 27:43 in. Comedic music. If Markowitz had scored "Bewitched", here's how it might have sounded.^ 29:19 in.^ 34:42 in.^(open/close) 41:30 in.^ (NtM: 10:19, 21:38) "Open City" (3.22) By: Richard Shores https://ok.ru/video/3147017816762 Highlights: 3:44 in.^ 9:41 in.^ 11:40 in. 20:25 in. Short outtro cue.^ 29:18 in. Short woodwinds cue.^ 26:41 in.^ 29:19 in. 31:16 in. 35:38 in.^ 36:46 in.^ 40:47 in.^ 44:18 in. I think 33:42 in is just a edited track job.

Continuing SEASON 4:
"Bought and Paid For" (4.2) By: Richard Markowitz https://ok.ru/video/3149312494266 Highlights: 1:22 in. 6:18 in. 11:58 in.^ 19:26 in. 20:07 in.^ 22:59 in.^ 24:15 in.^ 27:55 in.^ 35:44 in.^ 39:52 in.^ 42:39 in.^ Unless I am mistaken, it sounds like a new more funky arrangement of the end credits is heard in this episode. 7:56 in: should be from "Violent Homecoming". "Now he's rehabilitated." "Two Frogs on a Mongoose" By: Richard Shores https://ok.ru/video/3149312297658 Highlights: 0:35 in.^ 3:04 in.^ 10:52 in. Now that's a cool cue.^ 17:39 in.^ 20:30 in.^ 23:03 in.^ 30:29 in.^ 35:30 in.^ 36:42 in. Just over seven minutes long.^ (NtM: 16:38, 20:16, 33:39) "The Other Side of the Badge" By: Jerrold Immel https://ok.ru/video/3149312953018 This is the only episode Immel scored. Highlights: 2:31 in.^ 6:22 in.^ 11:42 in. The radio source music cue.^ 15:00 in.^ 20:52 in.^ 25:17 in.^ 29:34 in. 33:15 in.^ 38:18 in.^ 42:26 in. 44:57 in. Most of Immel's work on this episode is just like his work on the spin-off series "Police Woman". And the producers must have liked it, because they tracked it into later episodes. I guess scheduling conflicts prevented him from doing more. (NtM: 11:45, 3124) "How did you know?" "After a while you just know."

Continuing SEASON 4:
"Three Days to Thirty" By: Richard Markowitz https://ok.ru/video/3149313215162 Highlights: 1:35 in. 17:24 in. 18:33 in.^ 22:24 in.^ 27:43 in.^ 29:20 in.^ 33:22 in.^ 39:53 in.^ 41:35/43:26 in.^ 44:49 in.^ (Note to Me: 11:42, 22:14, 26:53) "Trash Detail, Front and Center" By: Richard Shores https://ok.ru/video/3149312887482 Highlights: 3:12 in.^ 13:12 in.^ 17:14/18:02 in.^ 30:09 in.^ 34:03 in.^ 38:02 in.^ * 42:07 in. 18:49 in: pretty sure this is tracked from the one Immel effort. (NtM: 2:15, 11:12) * = Come on! How do the suspects not see you when you not only making a speeding u-turn in the road, but speed around another vehicle over the divider line and into the flow of oncoming traffic. "Monster Manor" By: Dick DeBenedictis https://ok.ru/video/3149312756410 This is the only episode Dick DeBenedictis scored. Highlights: 1:57 in. 5:02 in.^ 6:19 in.^ 9:30 in.^ 11:10 in.^ 12:18 in. 21:07 in.^ 33:04 in. The source music. Mixed very low.^ 35:40/36:25 in. More funky source music.^ Actor Joe Santos is back as another character. Dick's score was nominated for an Emmy. The only score of the series to be nominated. I don't find anything particular special about it or so great as a whole; Markowtiz has done better on multiple episodes. The other competition that year: "Roots" Episode: Part 1 Composers: Quincy Jones and Gerald Fried "Roots" Episode: Part 8 Composer: Gerald Fried "Bronk" Episode: "The Vigilante" Composer: Jack Urbont (utterly baffling nomination) "Captains and the Kings" Episode: Chapter 8 Composer: Elmer Bernstein https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Primetime_Emmy_Award_for_Outstanding_Music_Composition_for_a_Series
