This is great! Any expanded Horner is always welcome. I was thinking we might see either Willow or Casper this year in expanded format. I just recently bought the original MCA CD on ebay for a steal. It's a beautiful and fun score but I haven't listened to it much so I'm not really sure if this 2CD set is something I'll feel drawn to get but I know this is a very popular score with even casual soundtrack fans so I have a feeling this one will sell out quick. Get 'em while they're hot

Based on the track listing, it seems the OST has a lot of edits from the score proper. Very interesting.

so... 7 min of new score? ABOUT TIME! Been 25 years since I saw Casper, but I recall hearing an instrumental version of the Casper, The Friendly Ghost song about 3-5 times in the film, but didn't notice it once on the album.

This is pretty much what I expected. There really wasn't much missing. Willow on the other hand....... All I recall missing was Horner's interpolation of the Casper theme in a few cues, played more like a motif (blink and you'll miss it) which I liked a lot, rather than a full rendition thats front and center. Playing Devil's Advocate with Willow, the only cue missing that perked up my ears was the snow escape scene...and I can live without it. The album is otherwise solid with everything I need. I guess this case would better be put in "If only for that cue" thread on the Intarda board.

Been 25 years since I saw Casper, but I recall hearing an instrumental version of the Casper, The Friendly Ghost song about 3-5 times in the film, but didn't notice it once on the album. Looks liike its there but separated into the additional music section as tracks 22 and 23. Clearly Horner never wanted those quotes in any kind of score presentation. Or there is some kind of legal reason... Yeah, either composer choice or legal...or both, but here we are.

Maybe the sonic upgrade will be the real deal breaker? Maybe a better balance between the 'low' lows and 'loud 'louds.
