I wonder if this will be accompanied by a nice Omni Music Publishing release of Solo in conductor's score format? Would be nice. Tho I think that will be HTTYD
Add me to the list of people who are 1) definitely interested in hearing this, 2) really hope for a complete ROGUE ONE release, and 3) really, really, REALLY hope for expansions of the Prequel Trilogy (the Sequel Trilogy...eh...not so much, but I'd get them for completeness sake and to show support).
John Powell posted in the comments that it WOULD be available to purchase as a digital download.
He did say yes to someone asking if it would be available as a high res download, which comment itself was in response to it being available on Apple music. What he didn't say is whether it would be available via the likes of 7Digital or HDTracks.

If a high res is available, both those sites will have it. Universal Music distributes 24 bit high res to all the key sites along with Tidal, Qobuz and Amazon's new high res biz.
This release is more likely to come to vinyl than it is to compact disc.
The fact that this statement isn't outlandish is one of many reasons why the future sucks.

I'm all for proper expansions of the original trilogy as well. The mastering on the extant 2 CD releases is atrocious and the sequencing leaves a lot to be desired (alternates tacked onto the beginnings of other cues instead of indexed as self-contained tracks; cues strung together in fake suites).
There's very few titles I would purchase digitally but I'll get this for sure. I love the score and I can't wait to hear all the additional music. Sucks it probably won't ever get a CD release but this is a must have for John Powell fans.
How weird that this score got the Deluxe treatment, even if its digital, over John Williams.....
Sounds like something Powell personally wanted to do and pushed for it. Williams doesn't seem to be the kind of composer who's proactive in releasing expanded scores.
For me the best solution would be if every regular release would come on CD and if they decide to expand it it can be digital only, I don' mind. With a very few exceptions I usually prefer regular, shorter releases. But please let those ones be released on CD at least!
