You forgot to add The Pelican Brief to that list.

As far as Brainstorm, other than one brief choral cue, and some electronic source music, I am pretty sure the Varese LSO recording contains the whole score. That said, I'd love to see a release of the actual LA-recorded soundtrack, as this is a score that is worthy of more than one performance.

Brainstorm is a re-recording of the score, not the original cues.

I can never remember how complete the expanded Aliens is, but I don't think there is anything major missing, is there? The film mix on some cues is very different than the album presentation. Queen to Bishop has the horns dialed way down on the CD and Going After Newt takes the emphasis off the drums. The main titles are also different on album.

Regarding Brainstorm, my memory is a bit hazy--has Varese ever released a score that had both a film recording and a rerecording (a la The Fury)?

Regarding Brainstorm, my memory is a bit hazy--has Varese ever released a score that had both a film recording and a rerecording (a la The Fury)? Not only have they done that, but they were the first label to do it for The Fury. Other examples include Goldsmith’s Justine and Damien: Omen II. Yavar
