"a welcome surprise"

That rules out another Richard Band then.

Ah, to be young and rude again.

Silvestri wasn't mentioned in the list of composers for the year. Something like Super Mario Bros. or Van Helsing would be a most welcome surprise.

To me, a "most welcome surprise" implies a title where as far as fans have been told the elements are lost, not a title a million fans are expecting to eventually get one day

Or it could imply where legal issues have been resolved.

Supergirl!

Taking the legal issue possibility and the presence of Poledouris on Roger’s list of composers into account, it could be the long-gestating release of the original recording of Conan the Destroyer.

Its been forever that I forgot about that one!

Where do the 3/9 and 3/23 dates come from?

Guesstimate based on key words " in a couple of weeks" and "about a month"

KENYON HOPKINS!!!

I was going to say the same. I've enjoyed these previous releases and it would be nice to have definitive editions of all these LP scores.

You mean tapes for better quality tracks that were unreleased or shuffled or the bonus section, right? 'cause Intrada had a short release years ago.

And I'd buy a more deluxe (or finally the whole kit & caboodle) version in a heart beat. Fantastic score.

What if it's a golden/silver age release, how about the actual EL-CID,conducted by Rozsa himself or Friedhofer's JOAN OF ARC,both scores long sought after and long thought lost forever. But miracles can happen as we've seen before!! And how about Antheil's THE PRIDE AND THE PASSION ,another thought lost.

I can’t say I’m all that familiar with Pride and the Passion, but the first two suggestions in your post would be absolute nirvana if they were ever to happen, especially Joan of Arc.

How about a western score by Dominic Frontiere from 1970...CHISUM. Some say the music elements still exist . Others say they are lost. Let's hope for the former.
I am still hoping that Intrada's next Kickstarter campaign will be for Hugo Friedhofer's magnificent score to JOAN OF ARC. As for THE PRIDE AND THE PASSION, James Fitzpatrick has shown interest in doing it for his Tadlow label, but if his health permits I hope his next recording will be THE NIGHT OF THE HUNTER. He has shown interest in that classic score by Walter Schumann also.

If it were EL CID, the news would have already gone out that I'd died of a heart attack when Doug or Roger told me.

3:10 to Yuma (Duning) or Centennial (Addison) would be surprises I'd appreciate.
