Expansions, expansions, expansions... Not for me. I don't think I have played the 1994 Varese disc in 20 years.

Yes but I don't listen much to action music anymore. Gives me a headache. I don't remember any music in Drop Zone that I wanted which was not on the original CD.

Our specialty label heroes have now done the scores to 7 of Badham's 16 films. Dracula 1979 (John Williams) - Varese 2018 Whose Life Is It Anyway? (Arthur B. Rubinstein) 1981 - FSM 2009 WarGames 1983 (Arthur B. Rubinstein) - Intrada 2008 & Quartet 2018 Short Circuit 1986 (David Shire) - Varese 2008 Another Stakeout 1993 (Arthur B. Rubinstein) - Intrada 2018 Drop Zone 1994 - Quartet 2021 Nick of Time 1995 (Arthur B. Rubinstein) - La La Land 2016 The ones they haven't done yet are The Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars & Motor Kings (William Goldstein) 1976 Saturday Night Fever (David Shire) 1977 Blue Thunder (Arthur B. Rubinstein) 1983 American Flyers (Greg Mathieson & Lee Ritenour) 1985 Stakeout (Arthur B. Rubinstein) 1987 Bird on a Wire (Hans Zimmer) 1990 The Hard Way (Arthur B. Rubinstein) 1991 Point of No Return (Hans Zimmer) 1993 Incognito (John Ottman) 1997 Varese reissued American Flyers back in 2015 and the album had the best stuff on it for the most part. Incognito came out in 1998 by RCA/Victor but that definitely needs remastering very badly. Varese licensed 3 tracks from the album for his Cruel Intentions rejected album and those were properly mixed by them. The Hard Way is in serious need of expansion by Varese. I do believe that Bird On A Wire is finally coming out probably in conjuction with Kino Lorber's Blu Ray release in June. Stakeout we sorely need along with Blue Thunder. Gladiator was 2000 TJ not late 90's and his style did change after that starting with Hannibal and Pearl Harbor which was 20 years ago. Gladiator is his best still from this period for me at least. I'd definitely would have to say that Zimmer's best period for me personally is from 1989 to 1999 and you saw his versitilly and his style was still fresh and original. Drop Zone is definitely a score fits this perfectly and glad to see a nice expansion of it since I like the movie. So for me this is a must buy.

I’ve never heard of this movie before - the music sounds A LOT like Metal Gear Solid (or vice versa?) Anyway, this is the kind of Zimmer I’d be coming here for, not the new wannabe-experimental stuff. But this straightforward muscular melodic stuff was always great - The Rock, Armageddon (I know Rabin gets the credit), Crimson Tide... At least we got Broken Arrow and Peacemaker expanded but I’m glad the labels are revisiting the 90s Zimmer. Can’t wait for “The Rock”.

Interesting release, for sure! Especially welcome for Zimmer completists. However I remember the original album was quite unlistenable for me, because of the ever-present electric guitar and crude synths, so I presume this new edition doesn't add anything more substantial to that. Honestly, I would have prefered the never-before-released BIRD ON A WIRE.

So I went to my digital collection to relisten to the OST after the announcement of the expanded version, only to find it wasn't there anymore. Must have deleted it years ago. So I went to Spotify, and quickly understood WHY I had deleted it. A bunch of swishes, swooshes, bangs and whizzes without going anywhere. So I don't really want to reacquire the OST, much less the expanded version. It's called 'NOISE'
