Another Yul Brynner Russian (or thereabouts) set film score to follow Brothers Karamazov.

I must say I'm rather curious about this one. How would you say it ranks in Kaper's repertoire? I currently have only three Kapers including the above posted Brothers Karamazov (I missed out on Mutiny and it is currently out of reach financially), but am considering giving his a work a serious look.

Lord Jim is a fine score with a beautiful love theme, but FSM's CD of the original LP sequence opens with some forced sound F/X and dialogue, which is unfortunate. Otherwise it's worth having.

”Oh, I hate mummies.”
The Mummy Returns (2-CD) [Intrada Special Collection] - Alan Silvestri

Stephen Sommers overblown CGI infested sequel was released in theaters twenty years ago today. It’s been years since I sat through the whole movie but Sommers sacrificed story for more extravagant (well not so extravagant today) visual effects and big set pieces. The highlight of the movie is still easily Silvestri‘s score.

My local library sometimes sells their old music collection at extremely low prices. I found this brilliant album there last week and been listening it almost non-stop since. This may climb up to my top 5 Elfman scores!

It is for me, and has been so ever since it came out. Congratulations on the great find; I wish libraries here offered similar sales.
